Local Bonus for String Inverter RangeBSL Eco Energy’s range of string inverters are certified as ‘locally

assembled’ by Malaysia’s Sustainable Energy Development Authority

(SEDA), making it eligible for the local bonus. The local bonus has

significantly boosted the attraction of PV as an investment by increasing

our clients’ returns and shortening their payback periods. Our inverters

are regionally recognised, and are slated to be used in over 120MW of

installations across South East Asia this year.

Net Energy MeteringFrom November 2016, Malaysia began implementing the Net Energy

Metering (NEM) program, allowing consumers to generate their own

energy using solar PV and export surplus energy to the grid. BSL Eco

Energy has worked hard to build our expertise in this area, and is able

to design, install and maintain NEM installations for homeowners,

Balance of systemA key strength of our team is our expertise in

LOCAL ASSEMBLY, GLOBAL RECOGNITION

We are pleased to announce that BSL EcoEnergy’s GoodWe string inverters are nowcertified by SEDA as “locally assembled”.

This means that solar photovoltaic installationsthat utlitise the inverters are eligible for theadditional ‘locally assembled’ bonus ofan additional RM0.05 per kWh under theGovernment’s FIT scheme. For example, a10kW installation in Kedah may generate anadditional revenue of up to RM17,220 over 21years by using our inverters.

The inverters are assembled at our advancedISO certified manufacturing facility in Rawang,and comply to international IEC standards.

NEM is the next phase in Malaysia’s renewable energy plan, after the successful implementation of the popular Feed-In-Tariff program. Under the plan, residents, businesses and commercial bodies have the opportunity to significantly lower their energy bills using clean, free energy from the sun.

In recent years, the soaring popularity of solar PV has caused a drastic drop in upfront costs, making net metering a more attractive investment than ever before.

1. When there is sunlight, electrical devices are powered by solar energy.

2. Excess energy is channeled to the grid through the NEM meter.

3. The NEM meter records the amount as credit against your next electricity bill (currently RM 0.32 per kWh).

4. When insufficient power is generated by the solar system, electrical devices will be powered by the grid.

Investment costs and returns vary greatly according to factors such as your system size, exposure to sunlight, materials and equipment chosen, electricity usage patterns and differing tariff rates.

As a guide, a case study by our engineering team based on a 1MW system installed in a commercial factory projects savings of up to RM700,000 on electricity costs per year, meaning a breakeven period of about 7 years (based on a tariff of RM0.509 per kW and 4 hours of peak sun per day).
