Selected Case Studies

Sonalake has worked on Verizon Media’s global advertising marketplace (AOL & Yahoo! origins) for several years, flexibly scaling a distributed software team in Poland to augment our client’s core engineering capacity in the USA.

Several teams have been established across technology domains including Java, Javascript frameworks, C++ and QA/Test Automation. Co-developing towards exacting quality standards, and integrating with production CI/CD pipelines to deploy on web-scale AWS infrastructure.

Travelport, the third largest global travel platform, engaged Sonalake to build an analytics product to complement it’s core product offerings and give its customers a deep understanding of end-traveller behaviour throughout the travel lifecycle.

The product included an extensible data platform built on open source components and feeding a range of analytics applications and techniques. Having delivered the first releases on a defined project basis, the product was absorbed back into Travelport’s engineering organisation, with help then provided on a Team Augmentation basis.

Ocuco is a leading provider of clinical, practice, and lab management software to the global optical industry. Ocuco initially partnered with Sonalake in 2018 to design its next generation SaaS solution suite called ACUITAS 3. Sonalake initiated the UX and Technical Product Design project leading to co-development of the solution through an ongoing Team Augmentation model.

An example of our Recruit & Build service for New York based cybersecurity startup Security Scorecard. Sonalake established a 30+ Prague-based engineering center, recruiting and managing the team and operation on behalf of our client. The technology domains included React, Python, C++, Go and Scala.

This solution relieved the challenge and cost of scaling engineering operations in the competitive New York market, while also removing the management overhead associated with office lease, local HR, legal matters & regulatory compliance, payroll and accounting.

An example of a Team Augmentation collaboration with Europe’s largest airline. Ryanair invested in a huge program to advance its digital infrastructure and services, growing its own core R&D centre while engaging Sonalake to scale several distributed teams from our Poznan based center.

A successful trial was followed by the establishment of our client’s own scrum teams, seamlessly working with Ryanair’s core engineering teams in Dublin, Madrid and Wroclaw.
