Online enrolment | 2 | Purolator

Purolator is committed to ensuring you have a retirement and savings plan that supports your retirement and savings goals. You will need to complete your enrolment online to ensure your contributions are invested according to your preferences and tolerance for risk, and to designate your beneficiary.

Online enrolment is easy and takes about 20 minutes. All you need to do is follow these steps to complete your enrolment and take advantage of all your plan has to offer!

Register for an access ID or passwordIf you already have access to mysunlife.ca/Purolator, you do not need to register again; you can use the same access ID and password that you use to access your group benefits.

If you don’t have these already, you’ll need to register for an access ID and password before you can enrol. To do so, you need an account number, which you’ll find in the welcome letter you receive from Sun Life Financial (or a recent account statement), and your date of birth.

• Refer to your welcome letter or account statement for your account number; • go to mysunlife.ca/Purolator; • select Register now; and • follow the instructions provided.

Forgot your access ID? Select I forgot my access ID. Forgot your password? Select I forgot my password.

Can’t find your account number? On mysunlife.ca/Purolator, select Register now, followed by Where can I find my information? This shows you where you can find your account number. If you do not have your welcome letter or an account statement, you can call the Customer Care Centre at 1-866-881-0583 for help any business day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

Once you have a Sun Life Financial access ID and password, you can enrol in the retirement savings plan online.

If you do not take any action, your assets will be directed to your plan’s default fund, the BlackRock LifePath® Index Segregated Fund with a target date closest to, without passing, the year you turn 65. This may not be the right choice for you; you will be responsible for moving these assets to your desired investment option(s) once your assets have been transferred to Sun Life Financial.

Step 6 – Asset allocation tool

Discover your comfort level with investment risk by completing the Asset allocation tool, which will provide a suggested investment mix.

• Enter your planned retirement age • Select Continue and follow the online flow.

You must now provide investment instructions for allocating your contributions among the various investment options available in your plan.

• Refer to the Transition guide on how to make an informed investment selection. • Indicate how you wish to allocate your contributions and your employer’s contributions (if applicable) by assigning a percentage to the investment options you have selected. The total allocation of your contributions must add up to 100%. • Select Save and Continue.

Step 7 – select your funds

Step 8 – Automatic asset mix re-balance

At the bottom of the fund selection page for each product, you will find the automatic asset mix re-balancing feature. As markets go through various cycles, the allocation of your investments may shift from the balance that you have chosen. The re-balancing option adjusts your investment selections quarterly back to the allocation you last selected. For example, say you have actively elected to have 50% of your contributions put into the PH&N Bond Segregated Fund (Bonds) and 50% to the Jarislowsky Fraser Canadian Equity Segregated Fund (Stocks). Let’s assume that equities (Jarislowsky) produce a higher rate of return than bonds (PH&N). As a result, the allocation of the portfolio has changed to 60% equities and 40% bonds. The re-balancing option, if activated, would automatically move funds from equities (Jarislowsky) to bonds (PH&N) to achieve the 50-50 split that you previously selected. To proceed to the next step, please check either Yes to activate this feature, or No if you do not wish to activate automatic re-balancing. Note: You can turn this feature on or off at any time once you’ve enrolled. Sign in to mysunlife.ca/Purolator using your access ID and password. From the Home page, select my financial centre, > Requests > Change investments > Update under Automatic asset mix re-balance.

Step 10 – Designate your beneficiary

Designate a beneficiary to ensure the assets in your account are distributed according to your wishes in the event of your death. If you do not designate a beneficiary, the assets in your account will be paid out according to legislative requirements.

• Select beneficiary information and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 9 – review and submit

Your enrolment is not complete and information is not saved if you exit before you select Submit. Remember: Once you select Submit, you will not be able to go back.

• If you wish to make changes, select one of the tabs under Enrol. If you select one of the tabs, you will have to select Save and Continue again, even if you do not make any changes. • Select Enrolment summary to review your information. • Print the Enrolment summary for your files. • Select Submit.• You will move to the final step of receiving your enrolment confirmation and a link to the beneficiary designation process.
