Having seen his persona in movies and TV, interaction with the young minds, it was just right to interview him for our magazine ‘YOUTH-EYE’ which thinks young and reaches out to the youth of today in any field. An informal conversation gave a better insight into his youthful mind and his message to the Indian Youth. A multifaceted person, he overwhelms those around him. His reper- toire of ‘quotes’ and brilliant oratory skills convince you of the messages and thoughts he conveys. Drawing political inspiration from the ideology of Jai Prakash Narayan and Nana Deshmukh, he has reached those pinnacles in his political career, which he aspired as a growing teenager. ‘Be better or different’, was his fathers advice when he started his career in films not knowing that one day he will represent a political party. Shatrughan Sinha of ‘KHAMOSH’ fame is a tow-ering personality literally. Charming, suave, witty, humorous and above all very YOUTHFUL. Having seen his persona in movies and TV, interaction with the young minds, it was just right to interview him for our magazine ‘YOUTH-EYE’ which thinks young and reaches out to the youth of today in any field.

At the height of his film popularity he wanted a platform to serve the people of our nation. ‘Satta’ to him is to serve. ‘Seva’ and not ‘mewa’ is his approach. A big crowd puller with his rich baritoned quotes --- his life has been a rich tapestry of experiences. An achiever be it the films, a TV personality or a politician – he has surely come a long way where hard work and sincerity has paid rich dividends.
Starting from Film & television Institute in Pune (a place he loves dearly) his family was not from the film world. His father was serving in the police department; two elder brothers are scientists with NASA & LOCKHEED, another brother a doctor in London ---today his family is indeed proud to acknowledge his achievements. Starting on a frail & uncertain future, he stands tall today for his dreams have come true. After a successful career in films, he has found a platform to serve the nation, the humanity, the common man and reach out to the YOUTH indeed.
His aura and stature can be a boost to many youth with dreams in their eyes. He says ‘Youth’ today is curious, aware, asks why and seeks answers - thanks to globalization…… the world has become smaller and now we have to think at macro levels, so start young.
GO GET IT…....is his message to the YOUTH. Reach out for the stars and conquer your dreams. BUT with dignity, confidence, belief in yourself, be firm yet polite and above all display TRANSPARENCY in your thoughts and deeds. Well said, we agree with him.
“WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING”
This has been his motto, he followed to reach where he stands tall today (proud of having no cases, FIRs, income-tax problems against him). After being in the make belief world of films he reaches out to today’s youth. Thanks to Luv, Kush and Sonakshi his three disciplined young children, setting out to make a career in films (may be politics in future), he understands the YOUTH PSYCHE and mindset, hence can relate to them better.
A calm, cool, composed and confident person there is not a dull moment in his company. He regales you with endless humorous anecdotes in his life and proudly lets us explore his life’s journey.
“FIND A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM AND NOT A PROBLEM IN A PROBLEM”Solve, resolve or dissolve is his mantra for trying situations. Be true to yourself and in your endeavours. Keep trying, never give up and you will reach the winner’s post.
“BE A FRIEND TO THE YOUNGSTERS – DOST BANKE CHALO……”His message to the parents: Listen to their ideas, let them follow their dreams, guide them and do not ignore them. For the youth of today is the future of our nation tomorrow. Encourage them and hold their hands.
Today Mr Shatrughan Sinha holds the Limca record for being the 1st Cabinet Minister in the Govt of India from the film fraternity and has held the portfolios of Cabinet Health Minister and Shipping Minister. He only imagined and had a vision, to act in films and serve the nation. His vision is a reality today – the mantra, mottos and the famous quotes of people he held dearly to his heart and lived by them are his success story today.
Like he reminisces – his father at one time did not think that Shatrughan Sinha would even break through as a compounder in a hospital, but his destiny and hard work steered him into becoming the Cabinet Health Minister. A truly incredible story! That’s life and that’s following your heart.
