Unemployment as defined by the International Labororganization (ILO) occurs whenpeople are without jobs andthey have actively looked

for work within the past four weeks.

Unemployment rate is ameasure of the prevalence of

Unemployment rates for women are higher than those for men.

WPR was 31% in Rural and 14% in Urban compared to 56% for women in both urbanand rural areas.

The incidence of unemployment among the educated is much higher than the overallunemployment.

There are more than 1 billion young people

aged 15-24 in the world today, and 89 per cent of

them live in developing countries

The youth labour force participation rate

declined from 58.9 to 54.7 per cent between 1995

and 2005, mainly as a result of young people staying

longer in education. But this has not sufficed to

improve their employment prospectsdividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently inthe labour force.

In 2005, of the 657 million in the youth labour

force, 85 million were unemployed (13.5 per cent).

The incidence of unemployment is much higher in urban areas than in rural areas.

Child labour is most rampant in Asia with

44.6 million or 13% percent of its childrendoing

In India 14.4 % children between 10 and 14 years of age are employed in child labor

In Bangladesh 30.1%, in China 11.6%,inPakistan 17.7%, in Turkey 24%, in Cote

Dlvoire 20.5%, in Egypt 11.2%, in Kenya 41.3%, in Nigeria 25.8%, in Senegal 31.4%, in Argentina 4.5%, in Brazil 16.1%, in Mexico6.7%, in Italy 0.4% and in Portugal 1.8%.

Common causes of child labour are poverty, parental illiteracy, social apathy, ignorance,

lack of education and exposure, exploitationof cheap and unorganized labor. The family practice to inculcate traditional skills inchildren also pulls little ones inexorably in thetrap of child labor, as they never get theopportunity to learn anything else.

The Indian Constitution provides a quota system whereby a certain number of posts in the Government/public sector units, in all public and privateeducational institutions, (except in the religious/ linguistic minority educationalinstitutions) in order to mitigate backwardness of the socially and educationally backward communities and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes.

After India gained independence, theConstitution of India listed some

particular groups as Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST)TheConstitution laid down 15% and 7.5% of vacancies to government aidededucational institutes and for jobs in the government/public sector, as reservedquota for the SC and ST candidates respectively for a period of five years, after which the situation was to be reviewed. This period was routinely extended by the succeeding governments.

The central government of India reserves 50% of seats in central institutes of higher education, and individual states may legislate further reservations.Reservation cannot exceed 50%, as per the rulings given by the supreme court

certain Indian states like Rajasthan have proposed a 68 % reservation whichincludes a 14% reservation for forward castes.

STATUTORY WARNING:IF YOU ARE A PRODUCT OF THE QUOTA SYSTE  M PLEASE DONT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. THIS IS A CO MM ENT ON THE SYSTE  M AND NOT ON YOU IN PARTICULAR.* I think we should have job reservations in all the fields.I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this.Lets start the reservation with our cricket team.

We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC /ST like that. Cricket rulesshould be modified accordingly.

The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an SC/ST/OBC playershould be considered as a six and a six hit by a SC/ST/OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. AnSC/ST/OBCplayer scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.

We should influence ICCand make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowlfast balls to our SC/ST/OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour toan SC/ST/OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an SC/ST/OBC player should be

given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters. There can be reservation in Government jobs also.Lets recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (thatcan really help the country.. )Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians.(Another way of saving the country..) Lets be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward Lets show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Lets be proud of being an INDIAN..May the good breed of politicians long live.. *

Limitatio to t Surv y

y The first limitation is that the accuracy of the project and conclusion istotally dependent on the accuracy of data collected and data analysis.

y Due to time constraint the survey is confirmed to measures therespondents were selected randomly and therefore might not be a truerepresentation of total consumers due to such a large universe.

y Over projections by the respondent to impress the surveyor is alsopossible.

y The recommendation is given totally based on the informationcollected through questionnaires and personal interviews.
