Band Pride
June 3-July 26, 2019
Program Description
Band Pride partners with Muskogee Public Schools to help preevent
summer learning loss and teaches advanced skills for middle school and
freshmen students. The program also provides opportunities for high
school students to continue their musical instruction throughout the
summer months. The focus of the camp is on teaching music
fundamentals and preparing students for both the middle school and
high school band experience. Band Pride teaches all students to become
responsible citizens and develop character and leadership skills. Students
learn the basics of being on time, not giving up, staying consistent and
being proactive.

production to the community on Friday.

Treasures

Program Description
Community Treasures provides a safe environment for children
during the afternoon hours and serves as an
opportunity for kids to learn valuable life skills. Each week the
camp will have a different theme to help students
learn about their community and the importance of being a good
citizen. Themes include arts, agriculture and
science, nutrition, history, community connections, sports and
games, safety, and a final celebration week. Children
can participate in the entire 8-week program or select the weeks
they prefer to participate.

Summer Youth
Theater Camp
June 3-28, 2019
Program Description
The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment!
Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are
down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the
Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. With expanded
characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the
beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young
performers! Camp students will learn the complete process of a
theatrical production including the audition process, stage
direction, vocals, choreography, set and costume construction,
make-up, stage management and crew, sound and lights, special
effects, and cross-curricular activities. Enrolled campers only will
be cast.

Guild Art Camp

Program Description
We offer week-long classes throughout the month of June, morning and
afternoon sessions available. Classes will be taught by local artists. Topics
include working with ceramics, painting in a variety of media, batiks,
drawing and design basics. Totally interactive, hands-on creativity!

Program Description
Muskogee Public Library offers a variety of free hands on learning classes to
youth in grades 1-12. The Maker camp lets youth create projects using 3D
printing, coding and die-cutting. Daily challenges include making music,
engineering towers, games and more. Video Game Coding lets youth create
their own video game using simple and easy coding software with daily
discussions of plaing video games. Digital Photography teaches youth to
explore taking photos using digital photography through daily themes. Digital
Video camp lets youth write, film, and edit their own short digital videos with
other youth.

Program Description
This program provides mentoring and character development through
track and field curriculum and involvement. Their motto is, “The way we
do anything is the way we do everything.” The program focuses on
physcial fitness but also integrates community service projects, tutoring,
parent participation and mentoring. Through these other areas the
athlete develops leadership skills and work ethic.

Project
Transformation
June 3-July 25, 2019
Program Description
8 week summer literacy camp open to eligible Muskogee children entering 1-
5 grades. Campers must eligible for free/reduced lunch AND need help with
reading. Mornings start with breakfast followed by opening warmup session
with values lessons. Starting around 10 a.m. campers rotate through 30
minute sessions in Reading, Art, Recreation and S.T. E.M. At noon, free
lunch is provided by MPS School Nutrition Center. Afternoon activities
include library visits, field trips, park activities, guest speakers/presenters and
special enrichment and cultural activities. Snacks are provided at 2:45 and
campers are released at 3 p.m. Two Parent Nights are scheduled to
encourage parent participation, showcase camper activities and provide
enjoyable food & family fun.

Rougher Summer
Pride

Program Description
Rougher Summer Pride is a multi-faceted training program for
student athletes, founded in the philosophy that all people are 3-D!
Within all people exists a physical, mental, and emotional
component. This camp offers academic, physical and character-
building activities for students in grades 3-12, giving them support
and supervision during the summer. The program gives students a
safe and caring environment in which to continue academic learning
and physical wellness activities, minimizing the loss of learning.
Elementary: 9 am-11:15 with free lunch at 11:20 am
Middle School: 9-11:30 am with a free lunch at 11:35 am
High School: 7-10:45 am with a free lunch at 11:35 am

The summer learning program provides role models, mentors and
certified teachers to children during the summer months to
provide activities designed to increase self-esteem, improve
learning, provide structured activity, and give a sense of
accomplishment. Mentorship and community involvement are
stressed to program staff and participants.
This program has the benefit of structured learning in school
subjects, exercise, and nutrition as well as providing an outlet for
fun and wholesome competition.

Volunteer opportunities for youth in 7-12 grade. Youth select projects
they are interested in participating in that serve community needs such as
literacy, working with special needs populations, animal welfare,
community gardening, hunger awareness, construction. etc. Projects vary
