Primary Care Nurse Institute Our Mission:

Given the success of the first offering and demand from the field, RNAO is pleased to deliver the Primary Care Nurse Institute for Registered Nurses in 2014. Using the groundbreaking, Primary Solutions for Primary Care, report, the program will feature expert faculty who will apply a number of learning modalities using primary care nursing knowledge and skills to maximize client health outcomes.

March 23 - 28, 2014- Toronto, ON For further information contact RNAO at

This five-day event will equip primary care nurses with tools, resources and supports required to care for highly complex health and social needs of Ontarians within Primary Care. It will also provide a platform for application (through clinical simulation), discussion and collaboration.

By the end of the Institute participants will be able to identify and communicate the unique contributions and potential they bring to primary care when applying their full scope of practice.

“RNAO’s Primary Care Nurse Institute is being embraced by the membership of the Association of Ontario Health Centres as a key strategy towards advancing full scope of practice utilization of Reg-

istered Nurses in primary care. Don’t miss out on this unique and valuable opportunity.” - Adriana Tetley , Executive Director, Association of Ontario Health Centres

“The Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario is pleased to support RNAO’s Primary Care Nurse Institute as a means of enabling Registered Nurses in Family Health Teams to develop their

knowledge and skills to embrace their full scope of practice. A number of RNs from Family Health Teams participated in the first offering and offered

positive feedback regarding their experience.” - Angie Heydon, Executive Director, Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario (AFHTO).

“As President of the Ontario Family Practice Nurses (OFPN) and co-chair of RNAO’s Primary Care Nurse Task Force, I encourage all family practice/primary care RNs to consider attending this unique

opportunity that brings together an experience like no other.” - Judie Surridge, President , Ontario Family Practice Nurses .
