Andy Warhol first used the Iconic image of consumerism in 1960’s with his painting of a ‘Campbell's soup can’. The painting used bold techniques from commercial design and used a stencil to help him achieve bright, flat colours and clean lines. He continued to look at packaging and even made sculptures based on everyday items you would find in a supermarket.
