CIME(CENTER FOR INNOVATION MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP)

Every Indian parent has a burning desire to provide the best possible education for their child. This cultural attribute is recognized around the World and represents the key to the future prospects of India. Yet, given the burgeoning demand for higher education – particularly in the areas of management and engineering, colleges and universities in India have generally failed to rise to the challenge. Hundreds, if not thousands of institutions have sprung up around the country that offer classroom instruction based on a Western model, with varying degrees of success, but none geared to provide hands-on, practical, inspirational and cutting-edge experience.

Our work in India is based on three realizations. One, that success does not come from a typical classroom education. Two, that the youth and other aspirants in India cannot “wait “ for the institutional infrastructure to catch up with global realities of today. And three that success and prosperity of India’s aspirant groups lies in their capacity to leapfrog through entrepreneurial endeavours and assisted initiatives.

THE VISION

To develop unique and high potential change agents of India through a multi-disciplinary programme guided by eminent leaders and scholars of our time.

OBJECTIVES OF CIME

Two key objectives of CIME are: » To provide opportunities for Indian youth to immerse themselves in world class

management experience -culminating in a study tour of Canada for selected individuals. Graduates of this program will then become our valued ambassadors as they proceed for successful careers or higher education abroad.

» To empower institutions of higher education with the strategic tools and consulting advise for launching medium to long term plans for competitiveness and World class excellence.

CIME YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The program is highly interactive and deals with key areas of entrepreneurship and development of management skills. Rather than lectures, the program will use “learning by doing” format with emphasis on concrete example and story-telling, case studies, and simulation games – orchestrated by articulate professors and seasoned executives from India and Canada.

Whether you are enrolled in engineering, business or the social sciences, you will gain tremendous insights into the real world of the manager. Skills in personal development, networking and communications are necessary for success. This will also be a great opportunity for participants to meet and network with a variety of individuals with world-class expertise in MBA admissions and various functional areas like entrepreneurship, corporate finance and marketing

The cost of the program is slated at INR 40,000 per person. Depending on availability and qualifications (based on application, interview and references), selected participants will receive a 60% scholarship from Center of Innovation in Management and Entrepreneurship. To develop unique and high potential change agents of India through a multi-disciplinary programme guided by eminent leaders and scholars of our time.

Therefore, basic cost for CIME Scholarship holders will be INR 15,000/- per candidate.

This fee includes all materials, notes, exercises, dinner during closing ceremonies, certificate of completion and refreshments during sessions.

CIME traditions bridge generations of Scholars an exemplary experience. Refined over the years, these activities help each class build a sense of community and set the tone for head starting the scholarship program. Many of these events and traditions are organized by scholars themselves and/or CIME partners. Some of such events are meet and greet lunch for scholars, TGIF (Thank Goodness It’s Friday), Plant a sapling, Morning march, Adieu barbeque; to bring together Scholars to share food and conversation among themselves and with other guests.

SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENTMore and more corporations around the world recognize that,

in order to gain a competitive advantage, they need to make sure their people know how to handle themselves at work and how to relate with theircustomers and peers. Most B-Schools cultivate soft skills in students and Indo-Canada Youth Scholarship Program offers another chance to pursue the same.

RESUME BUILDING Most of the times, freshers’ don’t get a job because they do not get a call for an interview. And the primary reason for this is that their resumes get rejected at the screening level itself. To increase the chances for a student of making it to the interview, CIME has arranged a session on resume building in the best possible format to sell your unique mix of education, experience, accomplishments, and skills to a prospective employer.

MOCK INTERVIEWS An interview is an important opportunity for students to get into corporate world. Every organization has a different interview approach based on the job profile. This will be an exemplary chance for students to prepare for an interview. This will help them capitalize on their strong points and overcome their weaknesses in future
