THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO
INFORMATION GUIDE
2017
The UTSA Fraternity and Sorority Community welcomes you to the University of Texas at San Antonio. Our Community is made up of 34 chapters and over 1,000
students who have created a home away from home for themselves here on campus. Although each chapter is unique in origin, history, membership and rituals, every fraternity and sorority holds firmly to common values of unity,
excellence, involvement and self-development. We invite you to look into all of the unique experiences and opportunities that our community has to offer.
The core values of our community are Leadership, Scholarship, involvement,
Service and Social Development. The UTSA Fraternity|Sorority community represents an outstanding group of students who achieve their dreams and
succeed on a daily basis. Membership in the community also comes with unparalleled opportunities for involvement and leadership; whether it be
positions within a chapter, opportunities in governing councils, students are put on the fast track to a multitude of opportunities that can enhance their college experience and develop them into strong leaders. Additionally, the personal
enrichment that accompanies the brotherhood or sisterhood of a Fraternity or Sorority proves to be the most everlasting friendships that last far beyond the
four years in college.
We believe that being members of the Fraternity|Sorority community has shaped us in to the type of leaders that we want become. When looking back on our time at UTSA, we know that much of our experience will be due in large part to our
Fraternity|Sorority experience.

Council: IFC
Major: Business Management
Why I went Greek: I choose to be in a fraternity in
order to be more involved in the community and
develop life long friendships with my brothers .
This is a decision that I have never looked back
on.
Council: MGC
Major: Kinesiology
Why I went Greek: Greek life was never
something that I thought I would do. After
meeting all the brothers in I realized I had
found my new home. This has given me life
long relationships, connections and
leadership skills.
Council: NPHC
Major: Psychology
Why I went Greek: I felt that Greek Life is a
culmination of every organization I would
want to join; it promotes leadership,
community service, and scholarship. The
idea of a lifelong sisterhood was something
that was the deciding factor for me.
Council: PHC
Major: Marketing with a minor in Legal
Studies
Why I went Greek: I went Greek because I
loved what the organizations stood for, what
they did for their community, and the

The Panhellenic Council (PHC) is comprised of seven unique chapters. Panhellenic life begins with formal recruitment. Participating in recruitment does not obligate anyone to join a sorority, but it provides an opportunity for all women interested in the Panhellenic chapters to become acquainted with sorority membership.
There are 7 sororites that make up the Panehenic Council, and each has an incredible opportunities to get involved. All PHC chapters have something to offer you.
