More Production with Less FuelEconomical and effi cient performance
EFFICIENCY
New ZX200-5G employes the Hitachi HIOS III hydraulic system whose work speed
is enhanced through operating the actuator quickly, and besides, the system can
precisely control the hydraulic pump according to the work load to effectively reduce
the fuel consumption. What a rewarding product!
New ZX200-5G's swing torque increases by 13% (vs.
ZX200-3G). It is now easier to carry out lateral digging
with the help of more facilitating swing operation, and
swing performance on slopes has also been improved.
The swing dampener valve reduces coasting at stops of
swinging and increases the positioning accuracy of the
front attachment during operation.
Hydraulic Boosting System
The pressure oil which returns from
the boom cylinder will be used to
accelerate operation of the arm. This
design signifi cantly increases the arm
roll-in speed by 20% (vs. ZX200-3G)
during digging operation.
Spurred by the power boosting device, new ZAXIS series' digging force will instantly
increase by 10%. The operator can feel the evident difference during excavation
work, making it particularly suitable for digging hard foundations.
Compared with conventional models (ZX200-3G), new ZX200-5G produces
a 14% (110 kW 125 kW) increase in engine output. In comparison with the
conventional ZX200-3G, the new one is a fuel-thrifty excavator that can reduce fuel
consumption by 11%* and increase production by 5%* in the PWR mode, thereby
raising fuel effi ciency by 18%* thanks to the HIOS III hydraulic system and engine
control system, while the ECO mode brings a 9%* and 6%* improvement in fuel
consumption and fuel effi ciency respectively.

The new hydraulic system features a hydraulic boosting system and boom
recirculation system, which not only enhances the work speed, but also precisely
controls the hydraulic pump according to the work load to effectively reduce fuel
consumption.

DURABILITY
The service life is closely connected to customers’ profi t. Considering the tough working conditions, new ZX200-5G is equiped with proved engine to improve durability, ensuring that the machine can operate steadily for a long time.
The X-beam frame with integrated welded structure, together with bigger center frame boxes at idler and motor sides, contributes to the higher strength of the machine.Track adjusters absorb impacts to crawlers, and idlers and adjusters are integrated to increase durability. The travel motor bracket’s upper and lower plates have been lengthened to improve stress distribution and weld reliability. The bushing on the upper roller is made of wear-resistant material, and the section shape of the idler bracket has been changed, bringing higher rigidity.
WC (Tungsten-Carbide) thermal spray is applied on the contact surface of the connection between the arm end and the bucket, delivering signifi cant reduction in wear of the contact surface and rattling. New HN bushings are utilized at the boom-arm joint and arm cylinder mounting area for better lubrication and higher durability. A reinforced resin thrust plate mounted on front attachment joints,helps reduce wearing noise. Welded reinforced link A is adopted. A fl at-bottom bucket is used, and the welding portion is protected by a wear plate. The Arm cylinder and boom cylinders (rod extending ends) cushion shocks at stroke ends to reduce noise and extend service life.
The acclaimed D-section frame for upperstructure is designed to withstand fi erce external shocks.
This reputable engine has a track record showing impressive durability at countless job sites around the world. The engine featuring a rugged design employs a direct-injection system. The cooling system well keeps the engine cool. The warming up system will warm up the machine automatically. Compared with the previous model ZX200-3G, the machine boasts a high engine output of up to 125 kW, 14% up.
A new high performance return oil fi lter element is adopted in the hydraulic oil tank to improve fi ltration performance, thereby ensuring the cleanliness and extending the service life of the hydraulic system.
The fuel refi ll port is equiped with a waterproof cover with a key pin to deliver a good waterproof and dustproof effect and simplify daily fuel management.

COMFORT AND SAFETY
It is important for operator to carry out work comfortably and safely. New ZX200-
5G offers ample operating space and excellent visibility. Numerous user-friendly
designs to promote a satisfying operating experience.
The robust cab, meeting the OPG Top Guard Level 1 standards, protects the operator
from falling objects. Since a neutral engine start system is employed, the engine
can start only when the lock lever is at the "lock" position, which eliminates the risk
of misoperation at the time of the operator getting on and off the machine to avoid
possible dangers.

A suspension seat is provided as a standard feature, thus alleviating operation fatigue.
The seat can be freely reclined and slid forward and backward. New slide rails are
adopted to achieve less rattling. The new pressurized cab keeps dust and particles
from entering.
Comfortable Suspension Seat
New ZX200-5G's cab offers plenty of legroom and excellent visibility. Compared with
the previous ZX200-3G, its door pillar moves 100 mm back and the cab hight becomes
90 mm higher for improving ease of entry, and the legroom is enlarged by 95mm and
50mm in length and width respectively. Front glass window is enlarged, especially at
the right bottom side and lower side of the cab, for better visibility. The control panel
and control levers are arranged within easy reach of the operator. Ample air conditioner
vents are located reasonably for smooth and uniform air circulation inside the cab.

Easy MaintenanceOptimized layout for labor and time saving
EASY MAINTENANCE
New ZX200-5G features a strategic arrangement of the daily maintenance parts
to save customers' time and operation cost, making maintenance work more
convenient and easier.
The hydrauic oil cooler, radiator and intercooler are laid out in parallel for easier
cleaning around the engine. The air condenser is openable to simplify cleaning.
The dust-proof indoor net is placed at the external side of the air condenser and
fuel cooler, and dismounting and mounting work from ground level is possible.
The radiator which is equiped with a cover for cleaning on the top can be cleaned
by blowing in compressed air.
Easier Cleaning Around the Engine
The hydrophilic coating makes it hard for any dirt to adhere to
the surface; even dirt adherence does happen, the dirt can be
easily removed.
Track adjuster greasing points are repositioned for easier
lubrication, and well protected from muck build-up. In addition,
side frame tops of the undercarriage are sloped to prevent build-up
muck, making it easier to keep the machine clean.
Maintenance points are concentrated inside left and right covers
that are readily accessible from ground level for convenient daily
maintenance work, including water draining from the fuel tank,
replenishment of coolant, and replacement of fi lters. The fuel tank
is anti-corrosion coated on its inside, and has a large cleaning
port at the bottom, which effectively keeps fuel clean. Handrails
are provided at convenient locations for easy getting on and off.
Plenty slip-resistant plates are positioned for safe maintenance.
The exterior air fi lter is outside the cab for easier cleaning and
replacement.
The 400 L large capacity fuel tank lays the hardware
foundation for long time operation.

The new multi-function monitoring system comprises a 7-inch high-resolution color display and a multi-function controller. Menu items can be selected by the multi-function controller on the control panel. The color LCD panel is easily visible even in the daylight. The brightness of the screen can be switched between daytime mode and nighttime mode using the ‘0’ on the ten-key touchpad. A rear view camera always displays the view behind the machine.
The operator can change over valves, adjust circuit flow, and check settings from the multi-function monitor. When using a breaker that requires frequent change of hydraulic oil and filters, an extra hour meter on the multi-function monitor displays operating hours of the breaker, suggesting appropriate replacement timing for oil and filters.
The new ZAXIS is programmed with 32 languages, making it possible to work in the language appropriate to the region in question in the event that the machine is transported to other countries.

The onboard "e-Service Owner's site", assisted by a powerful information network, has led preventive servicing management to a new era of electronic information. HITACHI provides customers with shared machine information that is to be used as the judging factor for the timing of periodic inspection and hydraulic oil replacement. In case of machine abnormality, fault diagnosis can be made from alert information to find the cause. Also, technical personnel can be sent for field service according to the machine location information. This contributes to quick and accurate service that reduces operational downtime caused by machine fault.
The cellphone system is an application designed for Chinese customers. Our customers can obtain machine information, including working time, fuel remaining amount and location information, in time through SMS. After successful setting through the dealer, customers can receive daily and monthly reports, maintenance conditions and other information.
