Polyester needle punched filter felt

Polyester needle felt is the most versatile, most cost effective and most widely used filter medium

for dust collection. It is strong, abrasion resistant, can work up to 150°C and has good resistance

to common acids, solvents and oxidising agents.

Disadvantages

Polyester's only real weakness is a tendency to hydrolyse at elevated temperature which means

that moisture can break down the fibres and cause them to revert to their basic constituents. This

results in powdering of the fibres and a serious loss of strength.

Oil-water repellent needle felt

Function of Oil-water repellent treatment: By use of compounds containing fluorine technology,

impregnate filter materials, the formation of molecular barrier around each fiber. To reduce the

critical surface tension of the fiber so that it can effectively resist the water-based and oily liquid

stains. Compared with ordinary fabric, these fabric have a more glamorous appearance quality, it

will also kind of like the lotus leaf has a great anti-oil, splashing water, anti-stain effect, can

effectively prevent oil, water, stains penetrate fiber inner layer, thereby maintain a long-term dry

fabrics, clean. This fabric is ideal for filtration of gases mixed with oil and moisture in south rainness

area of china.

This treatment can apply to almost all felt types.

Polypropylene is a relatively low temperature fiber with quite excellent chemical resistance which

finds use in specialist applications such as the chemical industry.

The fibers cannot hydrolyze, the only chemical weakness being a susceptibility to oxidizing agents.

Other than that they can be used almost universally provided the temperature is below 90°C.The

fiber is of a low density (it floats in water) and so a given denier of fiber is much larger in diameter

than the polyester equivalent. This leads to felts being quite thick, almost 50% thicker than for the

same polyester weight. The fiber is very prone to static build up so the felts are often augmented by

the incorporation of either conductive fibers or a conductive scrim or a combination of the two. This

then helps to dissipate potential static electric discharges.
