Introduction
WELCOME TO ZINC
An art magazine catering to the student body of Ringling College of Art
and Design set to begin distribution in March of 2010. Our mission is to
enrich the experience of the Ringling College campus by providing a plat-
form for participation and discussion between the various majors.
We will work side-by-side with some of the major organizations on campus
such as Student Government Association, Faculty, and individual men and
women who inspire us.
With clean and innovative graphic design, a focus for the art, and down to
earth student produced content this fresh publication is a perfect stage for
the Ringling College community to unite creatively.
™ ™
Why ZINC?
“To embody this quality of translucency.”
ZINC WHITE PAINT.
The name ZINC refers to zinc white oil paint. Unlike other whites such
as titanium zinc white is semi translucent. We are trying to embody this
quality of translucency, by making the walls that separate the majors easi-
er to see and interact through.

WELCOME TO ZINC,
Zinc invites both faculties and emerging creatives in Sarasota to collabo-
rate around a single theme issue. Our editorial line aims to re-establish the
art magazine as something trust worthy and committed to the campus.
The magazine is made by students for the students. The result gives
students a feeling of community, and inspiration.
Who We Are
“An art magazine catered to the entire student body.”
™
MAJORS WORKING TOGETHER
Throughout the history of Ringling Collee of Art + Design there have been
countless attempts to bring together all types of majors. Until we can all
feel comfortable and relate with other majors we can move on to creating
beautiful art with our peers. We encourage collaboration between ma-
jors and strive to include something for every department.
By building on the commonality in the Ringling campus we hope to in-
spire and create a magazine that has something for everyone. The result;
A rich experience that all students can experience throughout the entire
college campus.
Why Is This Important?
“If only there was more interaction between different departments.”
™ ™
TARGET AUDIENCE
Our readers are dedicated to the arts; the students, faculty, and surround-
ing community are all personally and financially invested in our communi-
ty, making ZINC the ideal platform to promote local businesses in the arts.
With each year the number of students continues to grow. This exponential
growth, creates a safe investment for your business.
