Combining incredible ziplines with spectacular treehouses and breath-taking views of Queenstown it runs in all weather conditions offering peace of mind for your next group event.

Throughout the tour your guides offer a commentary on sustainability, the environment, local Maori myths and legends and Queenstown, all delivered in a fun and informative way.

OUR STORYZiptrek was founded in 2001 in Whistler, Canada with a goal of providing a unique experience combining nature-based learning with a rush of adrenaline in a safe environment. In December 2009 Trent Yeo opened the first global Ziptrek operation in Queenstown, New Zealand and became New Zealand’s original zipline tour.

We opened on Bob’s Peak with the Moa 4 line tour and in November 2010, we launched the Kea 6 line tour which claims the title of the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world!

Our course is accessed using pre-existing infrastructure, either by gondola or by walking up the Tiki Trail.

Since opening, we have planted close to 5,000 native trees locally with over 3,000 trees planted on Bob’s Peak alone. Join others by adding “tree planting” to your next group event or team building activity. Ziptrek also supports many like-minded organisation and initiatives, both locally and globally.

Ziptrek Inc. have extensive zipline knowledge and are setting the standard on the delivery of commercial zipline experiences around the world.

All equipment is supplied by Ziptrek for your zipping pleasure. This includes helmets and a padded, five point, custom-made safety harness and pulley that is designed by us. Our patented braking systems are unique to Ziptrek Inc. and ensures a smooth ride and gentle deceleration for your rider comfort, enabling almost anyone from 6 to 93 years (our current eldest) to come zipping with us.CHECK OUT OUR

ZIPTREK IS LOCATED IN THE CBD AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE VIA THE SKYLINE GONDOLA. All groups check in at the spectacular Ziptrek Treehouse nestled in the forest atop gondola hill; less than 100m from the main Skyline complex and right next to the helipad. Upon leaving our treehouse you are high up in the canopy of the trees for the remainder of your adventure experience.

Ziptrek works as a stand alone product or can tie in with many of the other great activities up on gondola hill, whether your group are interested in luging or already conferencing or dining up at Skyline.

ALL WEATHERZIPTREK IS AMAZING, WHATEVER THE WEATHER.We operate every day of the year, rain or shine, providing peace of mind that your event will go ahead, as scheduled.

Keep in mind you are entering a mixed alpine forest and whilst it does rain or snow, you are provided with some level of shelter through the tree canopy. We can also provide wet weather jackets as well as hats and gloves, if required.

MOA TOUR4 LINE T OUR I S FUN FOR EVERYONE. The Moa tour comprises of four ziplines starting and finishing at the top of the Skyline gondola. The Moa tour is designed to start low and slow and gradually builds your confidence as it gets progressively longer, higher and faster.

KEA TOUR6-LINE TOUR WITH WORLD’S STEEPEST ZIPLINE.The Kea tour has six ziplines and is faster and longer than the Moa tour, finishing with a zipline ride that descends 30 storeys at speeds of up to 70kph! The Kea tour is a truly unique way to get down the mountain and returns you to the bottom of the hill on a total high.

ZIPTREK HAS A RANGE OF SUITABLE OPTIONS AND THE ABILITY TO CATER FOR GROUPS FROM 10 - 220 PERSONS

TOURSLOGISTICSWe run tours in small, personalised groups of up to 10 persons, with each group having two Ziptrek Guides accompanying them and taking care of everything technical. We split larger groups into these smaller blocks and run them one after the other, 15 minutes apart. Alternatively, we can offer a continuous zipping experience if this works better for your group’s dynamics.

TEAM BUILDINGOur team building activities offer a personalised tour hosted by our Ziptrek guides. In between zipping through the first four ziplines of our course, we incorporate a range of mental and physical challenges on stunning treehouse platforms and throughout the surrounding Douglas Fir forest. These challenges can be tailored to suit your group’s requirements, expectations and needs. A unique advantage of our team building option is that all participants start and finish at the same time.

Branding at the Treehouse and/or tree platforms is available, as well as F&B options.

BESPOKE GROUPSIf you are looking at delivering a truly unique experience for your group, please contact us directly to discuss a range of alternative options from our normal group tour offerings. We are able to offer exclusive use of our zipline course for your needs, including a ‘Continuous Zip’ option. This option allows us to get participants through quickly if you are working to a tight schedule and also ties nicely in with any function or event you may already be partaking in at the Skyline gondola facility - we are able to host guests personally and escort them up and down to Ziptrek in small groups, returning them to their function after they have zipped.
