About Zonta Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. With more than 30,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas, Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta’s mission and objectives. Zonta International Objectives:
• To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local level through service and advocacy

OUR CLUB VISION & MISSION 2016 – 2018 MISSION: Our Mission is to identify areas in our community where women and young girls need our help to achieve equality and reach their full potential for a better life. VISION: Zonta Club La Union-San Fernando City endeavors to raise the awareness in our community to the true value and equality of women. OUR CLUB HISTORY: ZONTA CLUB LA UNION - SAN FERNANDO CITY was the first new club of District 17 (2008-2009) that was installed on March 26, 2009, during the governance of DG. Narudee Kiengsiri, LtG. Beng Puyat and AD. Aida Ramos with the help of Mary Jane Ortega, Mary Ang, AD4 Aida Ramos and past AD4 Lili Passion. Our chartered President was Ma. Cecilia Pua Phee 2008-2010. Our club started with 27 members and at present we now have 34 • We registered our Club at the Security and Exchange Commission under the name of ZONTA CLUB LA UNION SAN FERNANDO CITY, INC. 1) Past Service Projects Conducted
• Donated wheel chairs, crutches and dental hygiene pack to the persons with
disabilities during 38th Celebration of National Disability Prevention and
Rehabilitation Week with the theme " Karapatan ng may kapansanan:
Isakatuparan... Now na!"
• Supported the women inmates at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology
in San Fernando City La Union, by donating a Sewing Machine to help them with
their rehabilitation and livelihood.
• Continuous support for the young children at Home for Girls in San Nicolas,
Agoo La Union.
• We conducted a fund-raising project through our souvenir program magazine,
during the 4th Induction ceremony of the new sets of officers, and new members
for the Biennium 2016-2018.
• At our annual Christmas Party, we had a feeding and gift giving to the less
fortunate children in Barangay Quinavite, Bauang, La Union.
2) Current Services Projects • Organized an outing with the senior citizens of the City of San Fernando La
Union as part of our continuous monthly project for them. • Summer ballroom for a cause, was held on May 27, 2017 at Coconut Grove,
Bauang, La Union. The proceeds of the fundraising went to the construction of 3
cubicles toilet at DEGMNHS Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial National High
School at Calumbaya, Bauang La Union.
• Donated school supplies, umbrellas and rain coats for the less fortunate pupils
of Tanglag, Rosario, La Union.
• Started the construction of 3 cubicle toilets with washing basin for the girls
students at Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial National High School (DEGMNHS)
at Calumbaya, Bauang La Union.
• We are helping the Fishermen’s wives of the Marine Fisheries at DMMMSU,
Bacnotan, La Union, by promoting and selling their bath soap products made out
of Seaweeds.
• Continuously helping the senior citizens of San Fernando City, by hosting their
monthly meetings on the last Friday of every month.
ADVOCACY PROJECTS: 1) Past Advocacy Projects Conducted
• We held a signature campaign to raise awareness and Increase action to stop
violence against women. • We gave lectures on prevention of teenage pregnancies and early marriage at
Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial National High School at Calumbaya, Bauang
La Union.
• Our club joined the San Fernando City La Union Grand Parade and Campaigned
for saying “No to Violence Against Women”.
• Our club hosted the Area 4 Meeting and with fellowship Night at Max Restaurant,
San Fernando City, La Union
• Joined in social media by opening our face book account.

2) CURRENT ADVOCACY PROJECTS:
• Fun run with Zumba campaign Says No to violence against women.
• Lectures on prevention of teenage pregnancy and early marriage
• We held a (3) Three days signature campaign to Stop Human Trafficking
starting July 24, to 28, 2017 at Barangay Hall City of San Fernando City, BHC
School, Pagdalagan Norte and Sevilla San Fernando City La Union.
MEMBERSHIP: Our club is inviting new members, who are professionals, executives, business owners,
with good standing in the community, and are willing to sacrifice some of their time,
effort, ideas, and who want to financially contribute to helping the less fortunate girls
and women in our community and globally. Every member is encouraged to invite at
least one new member a year. Existing members should become more active, and
support each other, and the club by attending meetings, and projects. The best rewards
we receive for this is in the eyes of those we help.
