On January 30, Zoomlion Senior President Zhang Jianguo met with Saudi Arabia company Al Shawaf International's CEO, Mohedin Shawaf, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement between Zoomlion and Al Shawaf International, a trading company under AL BAWANI, who is one of Saudi Arabia's largest family-owned businesses, means Zoomlion has entered a new phase localization in the Saudi market. Saudi Arabia is the largest tower crane market in Middle East, and Zoomlion has enjoyed a stable lead in terms of its share of the market. However, not having a sales agent in Saudi Arabia has hindered commercial and media promotions and sales. Large spare part warehouse will be established as per the agreement, and Zoomlion will help the new partner to build a professional sales and after sales team so as to achieve the agreed marketing targets.

The Urban Group, a leading construction company dedicated in house projects in Moscow undertook the “Solar System “construction contract, which includes residential and commer-cial houses, gym and school campus, etc. ZOOMLION was awarded the order of supplying 15 units of TC6016A-8 tower cranes for the project. The Urban Group decided to purchase ZOOMLION’s tower crane after they visited ZOOMLION’s manufacturing bases. Through several discussions, The Urban Group was very much impressed on ZOOMLION tower cranes’ safety features, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

To prevent the cranes from interference with buildings under space constraint, all cranes were provided with Anti-Collision Device & Multi-Function Parameter Display. Moreover, strengthened mast sections was also added to the crane to achieve greater free standing height.It was expressed by the operator that the tower crane has been working very smoothly and been mechanically very steady during frequent use in the extreme weather condition. The residential and commercial house part of the project has been completed presently. The successful show of ZOOMLION’s tower crane in Moscow will draw increasing attention of Russian customers on ZOOMLION.

Overview of the “Solar System” construction project.

Hammer head crane, topless crane and luffing jib crane are not usually seen at one site, however the scene is available now in Hong Kong. Located in the city’s most prosperous district between Ho Man Tin and Mongkok, The Ho Man Tin MTR project is being introduced to contractors as a reference of ZOOMLION tower cranes. This project calls for the all types of ZOOMLION’s tower crane including hammer-head cranes (two TC7052-25), topless cranes (two T320-16) and luffing-jib cranes (two L250-16). These six tower cranes, standing at 68 meters below ground, are

constructing the Ho Man Tin station of the Kwun Tong Line Extension with the total length of 2.4 kilometers. The contractor of the project Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd., established in 1937, is one of the 5 largest construction companies in Japan, with average turnover of 4 billion US dollars per year. The company has undertaken a series of civil engineering project in Hong Kong: such as dam, underground railway, container terminal, new Chek Lap Kok airport and power stations. Nishimatsu expressed satisfaction at steady performance of ZOOM-LION tower cranes, equipped with anti-collision system.

Under ZOOMLION engineer’s supervision, the 16t load test was successful, and it indicates ZOOMLION’s largest tower in North Africa has been commissioned. The crane TC7035-16 as a popular model with worldwide proven work record, was ordered by a customer in Africa for cementation project in Biskra, Algeria. The job for the crane is to lift 16t components to height of 120m for the 5 stage cyclone preheater.In order to help the user in better managing and using the crane, ZOOMLION deputed engineer to the site to provide erection supervision and training to the site’s operation & maintenance crew.

MARKETING CAMPAIGN

Russia’s new policy of preventing the import of machinery for national and municipal construction project makes a lot of suppliers including ZOOMLION transfer their marketing strategic priority from Russia to central Asian region, where a new breakthrough is expected. On 18th and 19th March, Zoomlion construction hoisting product line provided a two days’ tower crane product and marketing skills training to its central Asian region distributors: Xinjiang Xinjin baisheng trading company and Xinjiang Zhongcheng company. Both of them, as leading construction equipment export enterprises in Xinjiang province, own strong marketing strength in central Asian region. In 2014 year, Xinjiang Zhongcheng company sold two ZOOMLION TC7030B-12 tower cranes to Uzbekistan(right-side image) for cement plant construction, and at the beginning of this year Xinjiang Xinjin baisheng trading company purchased a 20 tons of tower crane for project in central Asia.

During the training process, sales manager and engineer from ZOOMLION introduced new technical advantages of tower crane, shared the experience of product model selection, pricing, and answered various questions from participants. After the training, the salesmen expressed more confidence in ZOOMLION tower crane and clearer concept of it. It is believed that the three company together will expand ZOOMLION’s brand in central Asian region.

Dozens of tower cranes including 4 units of 63t D1100-63 are been delivering to various sites through Turkey GAMA.3. Dozens of topless tower cranes including T320-20, TCT5513-8 have been delivered to Korea DODO. 4. 20 units of tower cranes TCT5010A-4 were exported to Africa for local construction. 5. Dozens of heavy luffing jib tower cranes consisting of L250-16 and L500-32 with external suspension had been ordered. These cranes are planned to construct the Elite Pavilion Tower project in Malaysia. The main tower of the project will be finished at height of 230m. 6. Two units of 32t topless tower crane T630-32 were ordered to India. These two heavy duty topless tower cranes will be used for dam construction site of Hydro Power Project in Himachal Pradesh.

4 units of Mobile heavy duty tower crane D1100-63 are working in progress on the Midfield Terminal Complex site of Abu Dhabi International Airport. The MTC’s terminal building will be the largest in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and one of the region’s most architecturally impressive structures. It is estimated to cost $2.94bn, and will have 700,000sqm of internal space, and will be visible from more than 1.5km away. The central space of the terminal building features a ceiling 52m tall at its highest point, taller than the Emirates Palace. The terminal is being built by Abu Dhabi Airports Company and is expected to be opened in 2017. The buyer who has undertaken the steel structure installation of MTC, won the project amongst many international contractors by a more economical and productive equipment plan, that was to use ZOOMLION mobile type D1100-63 heavy duty tower cranes compare to the crawler cranes plan of the competitions’.

The D1100-63 was ordered with customized configurations. Mobile chassis were provided in two types (10X18 and 10X15), considering that the tower crane will be installed on the basement of the airport, beam of which has to bear the whole tower crane. In the project the largest track reached 180m with curves. To ensure the tower crane pass the track steady, the cranes were built with special designed mobile platforms with Frequency Conversion Controlling System. TUV tester engineer expressed amazement at the outstanding performance of D1100-63, when the crane successfully done 125% weight of rated load test. ”It is quite unusual for so huge machine to move so smoothly and be controlled accurately.” The owner of the project who was not having confidence on Chinese make heavy cranes, also compliment highly on the D1100-63 cranes.
