Even with their short stature, these four provide plenty of in-cab amenities. Their spacious cabs offer best-in-class visibility, more side-to-side leg room, and enhanced, easier-to-use multifunction/multilingual monitor, rearview camera and more. Options such as a heated air-suspension seat (245US LC-5) further enhance convenience and comfort.

n Cleaner-running engines

Isuzu engines employ a cooled exhaust gas-recirculation (EGR) platform paired with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to meet EPA IT4/EU Stage IV emissions regulations. These easy-to-maintain engines require no special additional fluids – just ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel and CJ-4 engine oil.

Like all of our excavators, these close-quarter specialists deliver the same multifunction capability and smooth responsiveness operators expect from Hitachi. Their advanced hydraulic systems are the brain behind the brawn, perfectly balancing engine performance with hydraulic flow. They combine a hydraulic-boost system with an enhanced boom recirculation function to generate more aggressive boom/arm speed, returning the arm to the dig position faster, so you can move more dirt in a day. Perhaps best of all, our excavators provide big productivity without sacrificing control, giving operators the finesse they need for tasks such as placing pipe.

Three work modes on the two larger models (two work modes on 75US-5 and 85US-5) allow an operator to choose a digging style that fits the job. High Productivity (HP) delivers more power and faster hydraulic response. Power (P) delivers a balance of power, speed, and fuel economy for normal operation. And Economy (E) maximizes fuel efficiency by reducing top speed while delivering an enhanced level of productivity. n Ergonomically correct short-throw pilot levers provide smooth, precise fingertip control with less movement or effort. Pushbuttons in the right lever allow fingertip control of auxiliary hydraulic flow for operating attachments.

n Standard left hand boom/frame light, plus optional right hand boom/frame light and cab/boom lights provide illumination to extend your working day beyond daylight hours. Rearview camera also comes standard on the two larger models.

n Automatic, high-velocity bi-level climate-control system with automotive-style adjustable louvers help keep the glass clear, the cab comfortable, and the operator productive.

n Isuzu (135US-5 and 245US LC-5) and Yanmar (75US-5 and 85US-5) are EPA IT/4EU Stage IV diesel engines that deliver fuel-efficient and reliable performance.

n The addition of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) reduce particulate and NOx. Both passive and auto cleaning of the DPF occur on the fly automatically.

n Auto-idle automatically reduces engine speed when hydraulics aren’t in use. Auto-shutdown further preserves fuel.

designed to run cool and quiet, even in high-trash environments and high

altitudes. Digging structures deliver long-term reliability. Exclusive boom

design with three bulkheads within the boom resist torsional stress for

unsurpassed durability. Tungsten-carbide-coated wear surfaces protect

the all-important bucket-to-arm joint. Reinforced resin thrust plates,

grooved bushings, and thermal-coated bucket joints increase arm- and

boom-lube intervals to 500 hours. Powdered-metal oil-impregnated HN

bushings enhance durability and extend grease intervals to 500 hours for
