In exceptional circumstancesconsideration may be given to persons holdinglesserqualifications provided that approval thereto i isobtained from the Masters of the Bench of the Inn ofCourt to which the candidate is seeking admission.

. Law of Contract and Tort and in Roman Law,to thestandard requiredin the preliminary examinations ofthe Bar Council. Arrangements willbe made forcandidates to sit’ these examinations in NorthernNigeria during the course. Successful candidates-will be considered for further training in the United

If at any time it becomes apparent that a candidateis not likely to reach the required standardhe will beso informed by the Public Service Commission andconsideration will be given to alternative employ-ment according to his qualifications if he so desires it.

Qualifications—Candidates must be Associates ofthe Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors -(Valuation Subdivision) or Associates of theChartered Auctioneers and Estate Agents Institute.They must have had not less than four years’ pastqualification experience in rating valuation work.
Duties.—Theofficer appointed willbe required toundertake the valuation ofall types of property forrating and other purposes, and to value rateableplant. He will be responsible tothe PrincipalValuation Officer for the supervisionand co-ordina-tion of all the professional and technical workinvolved in the revaluation of Lagos. He will.beresponsible for thetraining of new men. He willbe required to appear at hearings of the ValuationCourt.
Scale of salary——-Group 9—£1,728 plus £300inducementaddition where applicable. Ten per centcontract addition is payable if the appointment ismade on contract.
Other conditions of service.—(i) Appointment maybe on pensionable or contract terms ; in the case of a
