FIRST YEAR HIGHER SECONDARY IMPROVEMENT/ SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATION, 2021

NOTIFICATION

The Higher Secondary First Year Improvement/ Supplementary Examination of 2021 will be conducted from 31/01/2022 to 04/02/2022 as per the time table appended. The Examination will be conducted at the Examination centres in Kerala, Lakshadweep and UAE.

ELIGIBILITY 1. REGULAR CANDIDATES:

1) Candidates who have appeared for the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021 can register for this examination up to three subjects for improving his/her scores in those subjects. 2) Candidates who have registered for the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021, but could not attend the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September, 2021 due to various reasons can register for the subjects for which they were absent. In addition to registering for the absent papers such candidates can also register for improving the scores of upto three papers of the appeared subjects. For eg. a candidate who had appeared for four subjects at the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021 and was absent for the remaining two subjects can register for the two subjects for which he/she was absent and also register for improving the scores of any three subjects which he/she attended at the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021. A candidate who was absent for all six subjects at the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021 can register for all six subjects. Regular candidates who have appeared for all six subjects at the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, September 2021 or this First Year Improvement/ Supplementary Examination, 2021 alone are eligible to register for the Second Year Higher Secondary Examination, March 2022.

2. LATERAL ENTRY CANDIDATES

Candidates admitted to the Second Year Higher Secondary course from other Boards/Institutions during 2021-2022 shall register and appear for all subjects in this supplementary Examination as lateral entry candidates. They shall undergo Continuous Evaluation in all six subjects of First Year Higher Secondary course. They shall be eligible for registering for the Second Year Higher Secondary Examination March 2022 only if they appear for the First Year Higher Secondary Examination in all subjects, at this Examination.

3. RE-ADMITTED CANDIDATES

The candidates who cancelled their second year examination registration 2021 and re-admitted for the Second Year of the Higher Secondary Course in 2021-2022 shall be eligible for getting retained their scores obtained in the first year higher secondary exam previously. The candidate who cancelled the Second Year Exam should attend both the theory and practical examination as the practical evaluation score obtained will be cancelled along with the examination cancellation.

4. COMPARTMENTAL CANDIDATES Candidates reappearing for the higher secondary examination after becoming ineligible for higher studies at the higher secondary examinations held previously.

This will be the last chance for the candidates who got registered for the second year higher secondary examination from 2009 to March 2016. The candidates coming under the above category termed, Compartmental candidates (only) shall be provided onetime registration for this Examination for the subjects they have to appear and the forth coming Second Year Higher Secondary Examination, March 2022. Candidates appearing for First Year Supplementary examination in Biology

should attend both Botany and Zoology papers.

The examination will be conducted in new syllabus only for all subjects except Electronic Systems and Computer Science and Information Technology. The candidate can write the examination in the new syllabus introduced from 2014 admission onwards. For Electronic Systems and Computer Science and Information Technology the examination will be conducted both in new and old syllabus. The candidates can write the exam in Electronic Systems and Computer Science and Information Technology in the same syllabus which they studied.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS REGARDING

Application duly filled in shall be submitted to the Principal of the school where the

student is registered for the Examination previously along with prescribed fee. A

passport-size photograph attested by the Principal should be pasted in the space

provided in the application form. The candidates can have their application forms from

their schools where they appeared for the previous Examination or from the School

where they are studying. The Principals of the respective schools should register the

candidates at their centre for First Year Higher Secondary Supplementary Examination,

2021, through online in the Department portal iExaMS. The school authorities

concerned should download the admission tickets of the candidates attending First

Year Improvement/ Supplementary Examination, 2021 and distribute the same to the

candidates atleast three days before the commencement of the Examination. The

candidates on receipt of the admission tickets shall check and get the defect, if any

rectified then and there. The notification is applicable to the SCOLE Kerala Candidates

also. Application form is common to all candidates. The Principals of the parent school

shall receive the applications with enclosures, consolidate the data, prepare the nominal

roll and question paper statement of the candidates attending the Examination and

upload the details through Department Portal before the last date fixed for the same.

REGULAR/LATERAL ENTRY/RE-ADMISSION / COMPARTMENTAL CANDIDATES Last date for submission of Application Form : 15/12/2021 Last date for remittance of fee at the treasury by the Principals : 22/12/2021 Last date for submission of application with a fine of Rs.20/- : 17/12/2021 Last date for submission of application with : 20/12/2021 a fine of Rs.600/- Last date for online registration of candidates & uploading of Question Paper data through Department portal from the School : 22/12/2021 NB:- The Candidate who have applied for revaluation can register for this examinations on the next three working days after the publication of the revaluation result with out fine.

The fee for the Examination should be remitted in the Government Treasury under the Head of Account “0202-01-102-97(02) Exam Fees” and fee for Certificate, should be remitted under the Head of Account “0202-01-102-97 (03) Other Receipts”. Those compartmental Students who had remitted fees during the First Year Higher Secondary Examination registration 2021 need not be remit fees again for this examination.

CANDIDATES OF GULF SCHOOLS The candidates from Gulf region shall submit their application in the center where

they had registered for the First Year Higher Secondary Examination previously. The

candidates of Gulf region can appear for the examination at the UAE exam centre OR of

the examination centre in Kerala where the Examination is conducted for the

subject/subject combination the candidate has studied during the Higher Secondary

Course. The Principal of the parent school/co-ordinator of Gulf region shall forward the

details of students for prior sanction. The Principals of the parent school in Gulf

region shall forward the details of the students along with the Question Paper

requirement to the Examination Centres well in advance so as to enable the Principal of

the Examination Centre to consolidate the question paper requirement and to upload

the same before the last date prescribed for the same. The Principal of the parent

school shall also forward the details of candidates who appear the exam in Kerala to

jdexamdhse@gmail.com. The centre in the Gulf region is permitted on condition that the whole expense for conducting First Year Improvement/Supplementary exam shall be borne equally by all the Higher Secondary schools presenting candidates for the examination.

CANDIDATES OF LAKSHADWEEP SCHOOLS

The candidates from Lakshadweep shall submit their application in the centre

where they had registered for the First Year Higher Secondary Examination, March

2021. The candidates in Lakshadweep can appear for the Examination in centres provided in

Lakshadweep where they had appeared for March 2021 Examination. The Examination centres

are allowed for the First Year Improvement/Supplementary Examination on condition that the

entire responsibility regarding this Examination shall rest with the office of the Director of

Education, Administration of Union territory of Lakshadweep.
