Prof. Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian is a triple Post Graduate and rare
personality known for his creative approach and creating history in the field of
education. He is a classic example of courage, commitment and intimate
relationship with the corporate world. He still claims to be a student, was a
soldier for nearly 28 years, is a trainer, a consultant, an author of five books in
management, a writer with more than 100 short stories and two novels to his credit, he is the one who conceived the very idea of creating the first Post
Graduate Management Institute in India exclusively for the Defence Personnel and their Dependents. He is the first
Indian from Armed Forces in the history of India to be conferred the Honorary Rank of Colonel after retirement. Much
later cricket icons Kapil Dev, Mahinder Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar were conferred the honorary rank of Lt Col
and Group Captain. Thus he has many feathers in his cap and is known for his creative, successful and bold
experiments in management education ventures.
He is an educationist who is clearly ahead of his time and has time and again demonstrated an uncanny ability to
foresee the trends of the future within the education industry as well as in the corporate world. He has introduced
many innovative ideas in Management Education of which many have become norms and style of management
education.
Dr. (Col.) A. Balasubramanian was born in a very poor farmer's family in South India where education was a scarce
product. He ran away from home to join an orphanage to complete education upto High School. Later he joined the Indian Army and served there for about 28 years and retired as a Subedar. During his service with the armed forces,
he acquired three post graduate degrees with flying colors. His scholarly attributes and commitment to students has
made him as one amongst the leading lights in the field of education in India. Education is enhancer of knowledge,
skill and attitude, it is the energy of a nation, a source of discipline, dedication and determination to achieve the goal.
He is the founder of the prestigious Sri Balaji Society, Pune (www.balajisocietypune.org) . He is running four
prestigious management institutes namely Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Balaji Institute of Telecom & Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management & Human
Resource Development (BIMHRD).
Nearly 1000 postgraduate students in various disciplines like Sales & Marketing Management, Finance
Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Human Resources Management, Telecom Management,
International Business, Business Analytics and Systems Management graduate every year for the above mentioned
four institutes who are well placed globally. Many of the alumni are currently working overseas in multinational companies. The motto of Prof. Dr. Col Balasubramanian is 'Problems are opportunities'. The other institutes that are
run under the Umbrella of Sri Balaji Society are Balaji Junior College of Arts, Commerce & Science (BCACS) and
Balaji Law College (BLC) providing education to undergraduate students. Prof. Dr. Col Balasubramanian is also the

This invitation to participate in the Common Campus Placement Programme is extended on behalf of the following management institutes:-

All the four institutes offer Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management
(PGDM) programmes in various disciplines
All the institutes are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE),
Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
All the courses are recognised as equivalent to MBA degree by Association of Indian
Universities(AIU).
All 4 institutes are located in a single piece of 16.5 acres of land. (Address: Sri
Balaji Society, Survey No 55/2-7, Tathawade, Wakad, near Pune-Mumbai Express
Highway, Pune – 411033)
The Society has it’s own faculties and independent infrastructure as per norms
established by AICTE and AIU.
Common Campus Placements activities for all the four institutes are held centrally.
We have two auditoria (Ranganathan Auditorium can accommodate 1,000 pax and
Raththinathamal Auditorium can accommodate 800 pax) , adequate number of rooms
for Group Discussions and Interviews. We have more than 1200 computers for online
examinations and numerous Video-Conferencing/Skype interview facilities.
The companies are at liberty to visit all the four institutes or to any one or two
institutes at their discretion. For Example, in case a company wants to screen and
select Telecom Management students from Balaji Institute of Telecom &
Management (BITM), they may visit that institute only. Similarly if a company wants
to recruit specialists in International Business, they can visit to Balaji Institute of
International Business (BIIB) only.

Selection Process For Admission
The selection process for admission to the Two Year Full Time Management programmes
is as under:-
(a) We follow the Govt. of India regulations.
(b) We are affiliated to CAT, MAT, XAT and CMAT.
(c) The weightage given for GD is 40%, for Interview 30% (including essay writing)
and for Entrance Examination is 30%.
(d) We are perhaps the first charitable trust in India to have reserved 50% of the
seats for women.
(e) Selection process is held in 26 centres across India.

Games Such as – Football, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Basketball and So on. A Walking Track Provides an Opportunity To Go for a Leisurely Stroll or a Brisk Jog Around the Campus in the society.Apart From These
Outdoor Games Facilitates, Indoor Games Such as Table Tennis and Carom Have Been Provided in the
Society. Last but Not Least a Fully Equipped Gymnasium With the Latest Cardio, Weight Loss and Muscle
Training Equipment Along With a Swimming Pool Is Provided for the Student Managers in the Hostel Building.
Each Institute in Society Has its Own ‘Sports Committee’ Who Bear the Responsibility of Ensuring the
Wellbeing of the Participants and Ensuring That a Clean Game Is Being Played in the Society.
The Nucleus of the Student Manager’s Life After the Classroom Is the Hostel Building in Sri Balaji Society. With
Ample Accommodation and Recreational Facilities, the Hostel Building Is the Place Where the Student
Managers, Relax, Study, and Interact With Their Peers. Student Accommodations Are Arranged in the Form of
‘Clusters’ With Residential Spaces for 12 Student Managers in One Cluster. Each Floor Contains Eight Clusters
With Four Floors for the Student Managers in the Hostel Building. Facilities Such as Drinking Water Coolers, Lockable Steel Almirah and in-Room Furniture Is Provided for the Student Managers in the Hostel Premises.
Order Is Maintained in the Hostel Premises by the ‘Cluster Friend’ and the ‘Floor Friend’ Who Are Student
Managers Assigned With the Responsibility of Maintaining the Decorum of the Hostel Premises Along With
Making Sure That the Rules and Regulations of the Hostels Are Being Adhered to. Apart From a Gymnasium
and the Swimming Pool, a Laundromat Is Present on the Hostel Premises. A Doctor Is Present in the Hostel Premises for Providing Basic First Aid and for Treating Minor and Miscellaneous Ailments. An Ambulance Is
Present at the Hostel Premises So That Proper and Timely Aid Can Be Given in Cases of Emergency. On
Hostel Facility Is Available to Both Male and Female Candidate. However, the Allotment Takes Place on First
Come First Serve Basis Due to Limited Number of Seats. However Students Who Are Not Able To Avail the Hostel at Sri Balaji Society, Hire the Rented Accommodation in Close Proximity to the Campus.
Hostel Life
Knowledge about computers, and computer application is a must if one seeks to excel in the technology driven
world we live in. Keeping pace with changing technology, we at Sri Balaji Society, believe in providing only the best
and latest IT and computer facilities to our students. To stay abreast with the times, the computer labs are well equipped with desk mounted systems supported by 100 MBPS internet cables and leased lines for information
exchange and connectivity. To further ensure uninterrupted internet access, the Campus is Wi-fi enabled with hi
speed internet with 100 Mbps speed, providing an opportunity to the student managers to access the web,
wherever he or she may be in the campus. All these facilities are controlled through the server room located within
campus which has more than 28 servers and more than 2000 nodes.
To further facilitate learning and development of students, the Society has subscribed to a number licensed
software, most important of these being the indispensable MS Office 365, the ever important SAP e-learning
software, SQL, and SQSS. These software are maintained and updated under the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
The labs are fully equipped with the latest licensed versions of the required computer applications, programs and
software.
The BIMM Library Possesses More Than 250,000 Books Comprising Textbooks, Reference Books, Books Related to Business and Management and Many More.
To Promote Learning and Encourage Students To Develop an Inclination Towards the Latest Management
Research, the Library Has Subscribed to 185 Journals and Magazines Comprising International and National
Editions Along With Subscriptions to 26 Local and National Newspapers.
The Library Has Also Made Arrangements for Sharing Information and Knowledge From Several National and
International Online Libraries and Databases Such as NDL- National Digital Library, EBSCO- EBSCO Management Collection & eBook Business Collection and Has Online Subscriptions and Editions to Journals
Such as Human Resource Development Review, Global Journal of Emerging Market Economics and So on. 14

Quiz, or Draw Out a Business Plan. For the Culturally Inclined, the Event Offers an Occasion To Participate in Musical Contests or Showcase Their Creativity in Designing Costumes for the Fashion Show. The Athletic Ones
Can Partake in the Sports Event Which Are Conducted on the College Grounds or at the Indoor Sports Area.

Aiyaswamy Culturals: a Long Running Tradition at Sri Balaji Society, the Aiyaswamy Cultural Competition, Is Held
Every Year at the End of the Induction Period in the Spacious Ranganathan Auditorium. The Aiyaswamy Cultural
Competition Was First Introduced in the Year 2015 Before Which It Was Known as the Fresher’s Party. Except for
the Name, Nothing Much Has Changed. It Was Conducted, and Participated in With Same Energy, Zeal, Fervor, and Enthusiasm. In Fact, the Craze and Anticipation for the Fest Amongst the Student Managers Has Only
Increased Since Then. Apart From the 2 Days of Break From Regular Classes What Adds Enthusiasm to the
Students Is the Prize Money and a Trip to Goa. The Winning Group Is Awarded a Cash Prize of INR 1, 50,000/-
and a Trip to Goa.
