Suitable for both fully active and those with limited mobility

Digital Scavenger Hunt Explore the site at your own pace armed with one of our digital cameras. This exciting, light-hearted activity will have your team working together and following clues to collect points. Afterwards, remember your day with copies of all of the photos plus a custom photo collage. This popular option is a natural choice!

Fee (per person): $18 Minimum: 10, Maximum: 65

Team BuildingBreak the ice and motivate your team to stay together, work together and achieve together. This program offers the skills to relate to and inspire one another through a series of fun and engaging activities in a comfortable setting. For a unique twist, ask about incorporating indigenous games, including the famous Holman Island Blanket Toss.

Fee (per person): $20/1 hr, $30/2 hours Minimum: 12, Maximum: 50

Canadian Prairie PastTake a step back to a time when bison roamed the prairie, and people’s connection to the natural world was a matter of survival. Visit our Pioneer Sod House built from the earth, then stop by the Bison Viewing Mound and discover the importance of this prairie giant to the Plains Cree. Explore the culture of the Métis, the influence they had on the fur trade, and their connection to the buffalo hunt.

GPS GeocachingChallenge your group to a high-tech, geocaching treasure hunt. You and your team will be equipped with GPS units that are programmed with target coordinates, called caches. Collect all the clues to complete the puzzle!

The Amazing Chase!

Using skills and speed, teams will race through FortWhyte following clues and taking on fun challenges. Collect hints, make observations, and report results to our facilitators to move on to the next task. The first team to cross the finish line wins the chase!

ArcheryExperience this centuries-old sport at the FortWhyte archery range. Learn the parts of the bow and arrow as well as proper stance. Be prepared to test your hand-eye coordination, balance and concentration.

Butterflies, Bison & BluestemHop on one of our Bison Buggy Golf Carts with a FortWhyte Interpreter and explore the northernmost reaches of our property. Keep your eyes open for butterflies, bison and bluestem while learning more about one of the most endangered terrestrial ecosystems in the world – the tall-grass prairie.

Glide away on a beautiful scenic lake! Learn different paddling strokes and manoeuvres as well as boating safety. You will also have an opportunity to participate in interactive activities for the whole group.

Fee (per person): $25 Minimum: 8, Maximum: 18 Length: 2 hrs

KayakEnjoy the thrill of powering a kayak across our lakes, an experience your group won’t soon forget! Participants will learn a number of skills including how to safely enter and exit a kayak, basic strokes and manoeuvres, as well as how to care for equipment. The program will finish off with some fun activities.

Fee (per person): $25 Minimum: 6, Maximum: 18 Length: 2 hrs

Canoe/Kayak SamplerThe sampler is designed for the novice or for those wanting to learn the fundamentals of paddling. This popular program will help your team become familiar with basic equipment, strokes, and safety procedures for both canoeing and kayaking.

Tours will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Your group’s contact name, phone number, address, number of participants and name of requested program* must be provided before a space can be held.

Special DetailsIn order for us to best serve your group, please make us aware of any special details, such as time constraints or group members with additional support needs, prior to arriving for your program.

Cancellation PolicyWe DO NOT cancel programs. We do have some alternate indoor activities to minimize outdoor time in the event of extreme weather conditions. Groups cancelling at least 14 days in advance of their program will not be charged. All groups failing to show or cancelling within 14 days will be charged 50% of the total fee.
