In 2009, Eaton used 1.4 million pounds of recycled PVC in the manufacture of irrigation hose, thereby freeing up landfill space and lowering waste transportation costs. Reuse of PVC also translates into lower input energy costs, since the material has already been processed once; and lower processing temperatures are used, reducing processing energy costs.

The Eaton hose features a spiral construction that stretches, thereby eliminating stress on internal yarns that support the weight of the sprinklers.

In the past, agricultural equipment used mechanical linkages to transfer power from the engine to the drive wheels and implements. Later, hydraulic systems provided more efficient movement and made machines easier to control.
Today, a centralized controller receives multiple inputs—from joysticks, pedals, switches and human-machine interfaces— and activates hydrau-lic components such as pumps, motors, and valves to perform work.
By replacing physical connections with electric signals, electro-hydraulic systems make equipment lighter, simpler, and more reliable. This bring cost-saving advantages for manufacturers and greater value to farmers.
Newer electro-hydraulic systems feature onboard intelligence. These separate controllers are designed for responsive and accurate control of individual components. They share the common CANbus language to send and receive commands from control inputs.

Working conditions, like heavy loads and tough terrain, put higher pres-sure demands on the engines. These added requirements make it critical to consistently manage power requirements.
In a displacement control circuit, the hydrostatic transmission senses output from the engine, and adjusts pump flow rate and power consump-tion so that it does not exceed available engine power. This prevents the transmission from overloading the engine and causing it to stall.
The same components that provide anti-stall features can be configured for automotive drive control as well. This allows vehicles that normally function at lower speed and higher torque to handle conditions that require higher speed and lower torque.
In an automotive drive circuit, the hydrostatic transmission functions like that found in an auto. As pressure increases on the foot control pedal, engine speed and pump speed increase. A speed sensing valve reacts to the resulting pump flow, accelerating stroke speed and vehicle move-ment. A forward- neutral-reverse valve controls vehicle direction.
In a dual path circuit, transmission pump flow rate responds to engine speed, which is determined by throttle position. A central controller pro-cesses inputs from the throttle, joystick, engine speed, and pump swash sensor, along with parameters programmed through software, and sends displacement commands to the transmission.
The Eaton 350 series dual path mobile pump offers a full range of product features, and can match the needs of the most demanding agricultural applications. It supports increased power requirements and allows for a wide variety of installation options.

Soil preparation and planting require careful management of time and materials. Sprayers and hydroseeders have to apply enough liquid to be effective while avoiding waste from overspray and duplicate passes. Height makes a critical difference; if the boom is too high, wind drift can push liquid away from where it belongs; but if the boom is too low, it can hit the ground. Eaton components contour the spray boom to the earth as the boom lengths increase, maintaining a consistent height for even application of liquid, and reducing the risk of equipment damage.
During crop care, Eaton valve products turn spray nozzle sections on and off to prevent overspray and reduce material waste. Autoguidance steering increases accuracy further still, using GPS to help sprayers cover exactly the right areas.
Eaton boom-leveling manifold assemblies for self-propelled sprayers feature screw-in-cartridge valves, spool valves, and proportional directional-control valves. These systems improve the accuracy and efficiency of fertilizer and chemical application for greater productivity. They also increase machine uptime; automated control reduces the chances of the boom hitting the ground and causing or sustaining damage.

Bent Axis Piston Motors
Designed for maximum efficiency and long life, bent axis piston motors incorporate heavy duty bearings that allow for high radial and axial loads. Their versatile design includes a variety of port plate, shaft end and valve packages that are ideal for agricultural vehicles.
Specifications: BAF7 bent axis piston motors provide up to 430 bar (6235 psi) continuous and 480 bar (6960 psi) peak performance.

LifeSense® Hydraulic Hose Condition Monitoring System
Eaton's LifeSense hose monitors the health of hose assemblies, and detects events that have been shown to be symptomatic of a hose assembly failure. LifeSense provides both a wired and wireless option to notify the user in advance of a potential failure, so the hose can be replaced safely and efficiently.
Quick Disconnect Couplings
Eaton's broad line of quick disconnect couplings range from simple air couplings to complex hydraulic constructions. The Eaton line has expanded to include Hansen® and Gromelle® offering a full range of hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer couplings which meet a variety of SAE and ISO specifications.
Filtration Condition Monitoring
Eaton offers a wide variety of contamination and condition monitoring systems that quantify and determine fluid cleanliness levels for different types of hydraulic systems according to ISO, SAE AS and NAS standards. They provide accurate, immediate, mobile and stationary, in-line, off-line and on-line fluid monitoring.
Specifications: Monitoring systems are available for mobile and stationary applications to detect water, contaminants, and fluid condition.
Disc Valve Hydraulic Motors
Disc valve motors feature higher flows and pressures than a spool valve motor, resulting in higher torque and efficiency. Ideal for harvesting applications, the motors are available in a range of displacements, output shafts, port configurations and special options to meet specific application needs.
Specifications: Rated speed: Up to 900 rpm.Torque range: Up to 3,390 Nm (30,000 lb-in).
STC® Connectors
