Nature’s

treasure chest

Chalk-white limestone cliffs. The old Genoese watchtowers of

Cap Corse. Twisting Balagne villages perched like eagles’

nests on green hills. The tangle of sheltered islands and reefs

of the Îles Lavezzi. On Corsica, the competition for the most

breathtaking natural landscape can only end in a draw –

the island simply has too many spectacular sights.

Picturesque coasts,

charming harbors

Wild or gentle, pristine or metropolitan?

Corsica consistently refuses to be pigeon-

holed. The best example of the island’s

idiosyncratic diversity are its port cities,

which are full of character. Here, lively

Bastia – there, picturesque Calvi. And

whereas, in the fortified town of Bonifacio,

you wander through narrow alleys, you

stroll along elegant boulevards in Ajaccio.

“Corsica's mix of cultu-res, from steep cliffs to picturesque coastlines, simply enchants me – just like it did Napoleon before.”

Sabrina Sylvester Editor & Globetrotter

Sophisticated lifestyle,

artistic fl air

The gentle climate, magical light and proximity to the

sea have always attracted those who appreciate beauty

and a refined way of life. Noblemen, painters and writers

discovered the magic of Southern France early on –

and left behind an abundance of enchanting gardens,

majestic castles and charming artists' villages all along

the sunny coast.

A coast for

real connoisseurs

The South of France is the home of

great culinary delights: Sète is justifiably

proud of its oysters, Marseille once

invented the bouillabaisse; and the hills

inland hide excellent wineries. On board

also, you can feast delightfully: Inspired

by regional ingredients and recipes, the

chef of the Sea Cloud ii creates

delicious dishes and puts a piece of

France on the table.

“The Mediterranean is where everything began that makes up our culture. Sailing in the Mediterranean is like coming home.”

Day 2 At seaDay 3 Bastia/Corsica 08.00 18.00

Napoleon Bonaparte once said that he could recognize his home island by its smell with his eyes closed. The lively baroque and cultural city of Bastia* exudes a distinct Mediterranean fl air. And the surrounding area in the north can be marvelously explored by e-bike.*

Day 4 Bonifacio/Corsica 13.30 23.00Already the approach to Bonifacio is a spectacular experi-ence: a shimmering white, steep chalk cliff, a small town that seems to float sublimely on the plateau. If you wish, you can visit the medieval upper town*. A boat tour* around the cliffs and grottoes off Bonifacio takes you to the Lavezzi Islands off the coast.

Day 5 Ajaccio/Corsica 08.00 18.00The majestic-looking town of Ajaccio is located on a beau-tiful bay in the south of the island. The Mediterranean flair is similar to that of the Côte d’Azur, but still has a typical Corsican character. You can follow in Napoleon's footsteps on a tour of the town*. Nature lovers will get their money's worth on a kayak tour* with a visit to the beach.

Day 6 L’Île-Rousse/Corsica 08.00 18.00In the east, protected by Corsica’s highest mountains, a lush green, wild garden with olive groves and orange trees has evolved around Calvi. Hidden in the hinterland of Balagne*, picturesque villages evoke traditional Corsica. The fortified town of Calvi* enchants with its charm and joie de vivre.

Day 2 At seaDay 3 Sète/France 08.00 18.00

With its colorful facades, canals and bridges, the port city, which you can discover on a boat tour*, is also known as the “Venice of Languedoc”. A little to the north lies Montpellier*, considered one of the most livable cities in France and de-fi nitely worth a visit.

Day 4 Marseille/France 08.00 18.00The country’s most important port, Marseille sits like a huge amphitheater on the Golfe du Lion. After a city tour*, you will surely succumb to its charm. Marseille is also the perfect starting point for excursions to Aix-en-Provence* or to the bays of the Calanques of Cassis*.

Day 5 At seaDay 6 Menton/France 08.00 13.30

Menton and lemons, they simply belong together. The mild climate, the sea location, its protection by the adjacent Alps, and 300 days of sunshine a year make this garden city quite unique. When you visit the botanical garden “Val Rahmeh”,* you will understand why Menton has fascinated even English garden planners.

Day 7 Cannes/France 08.00 18.00 Glamorous Cannes, known worldwide for its film festival, is the ideal starting point for an excursion to nearby Antibes*. The beautiful old town with its winding streets and the largest marina in Europe is home to the Picasso Museum in the former Grimaldi Castle. Not far is also the medieval cultural jewel Saint-Paul-de-Vence* – favorite place of many artists. Art lovers are thrilled by the Foundation Maeght.

Route B

Between art & lifestyle: Southern France

At times enjoyable savoir-vivre, at times dreamily in small artists’ villages. Then again pure sophistication on the promenades of luxury ports – Southern France touches, inspires and fascinates in equal measure. Towns like Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier are counted among the most livable cities in this country. Their chic flair exudes an elegant ease.

Corsica, the island beauty

Corsica is a true “miniature continent”. In seven days, you will sail once around the entire island and have time to discover the many sides of the idiosyncratic isle in depth: following in the footsteps of Napoleon, on a boat tour along the rock formations of the Calanche, taking a tour into the hinterland of the Balagne, or more casually with a kayak or e-bike.

From kitchen & cellar

Fresh oysters, ham from Bayonne, the finest cheeses, or the famous fish soup bouillabaisse: surely, these delicacies make your mouth water. Hardly any other country offers such a great culinary variety and finesse. Our chef is looking forward to indulging you with regional specialties, accom-panied by selected French wines.

More time ashore

Thanks to longer layovers in the ports, you can fully immerse yourself in the French lifestyle. Whether history, nature, architecture, art or culinary delights – the selections in our excursion program promise versatility and variety and provide deep insights into the regions visited. During the relaxed days at sea, you can unwind and let the impressions from ashore linger.

A lecturer accompanies the cruise

A renowned lecturer accompanies all voyages between France and Corsica. In entertaining talks, he or she will introduce the country and its people to you, impart interesting facts and put you in the right mood for your shore excursions. Whether on board or ashore – our lecturer will be happy to answer your questions.
