[1] Sanatan Dharma College, has been a citadel of quality education and higher learning ever since its establishment in 1916. The college owes its inception to the determined resolve and foresightedness of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya ji and the missionary zeal of Pt Deen Dayal ji. Philanthropists like Pt. Rishi Ram ji, Rai Bahadur Ram Saran Dass ji, Rai Bahadur Sohan Lal ji , Dewan Kishan Kishore ji , Seth JK Birla and Seth Ram Kishan Dalmia provided impetus and a futuristic outlook to this seat of higher education. Their efforts bore fruits and the college attained its zenith of glory in a short time and was recognized as the pioneer centre of value based education in North India. After the partition of the country, Goswami Ganesh Dutt ji, Dewan Hari Krishan Dass ji and the members of the managing committee, both at Ambala and Delhi, made incessant efforts to reinstate the college at Ambala Cantt. Dr Rajender Prasad, the first President of India, laid the foundation stone of the college in 1951. Since then, the college has progressed tremendously and has been deemed as one of the best institutions in providing sound academic inputs blended with an all round personality development approach. The college has been bestowed with an ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.48 by the NAAC Re-accreditation Committee and has also earned the status of “College with Potential for Excellence”. No stone is left unturned in our efforts to make the students competent enough to face a professionally challenging world and grooming them for a better career. A number of alumni of the college hold enviable positions in prestigious organizations in India and abroad. At present there are 3043 students on the college rolls. In our effort to make our students capable of facing the globally challenging scenario and at the same time maintaining a delicate balance between academic excellence and moral perfection, we at Sanatan Dharma College realize that our task of providing education becomes all the more demanding.
