Built in 1848, and named after the first Governor in South Australia, The Gov (as it is affectionately known) has been Adelaide’s leading live music venue since 1993 when the Tonkin Family took over.

What are your opening hours?

The Gov is open Monday – Friday 11am – late / Saturday 12pm – late. Generally the Hotel is closed on Sundays and public holidays, unless we have a show on or there is a show on at The Entertainment Centre.

Do you have AV equipment?

Each room has microphone access, excellent sound and PA systems. *upgrades may be applicable depending

upon your requirements.

How long can I party for at my function?

All functions run until 12–midnight unless otherwise specified and will incur an additional fee for extended curfews.

Do I need to pay a deposit for my function space?

There is a $200 deposit fee for all spaces, which is fully refundable provided minimum spends and terms and conditions have been met.

FAQ'sWhen do I need to pay for my function food?

Full food order and payment is to be made 5 days prior to your function.

Can I bring in a cake?

You are welcome to bring a cake in, however, an additional fee may apply if you require the cake to be cut and served.

Can I bring in my own food?

Due to food safety requirements, no food can be brought into the Hotel without prior permission from the function manager.

Can I bring in my own decorations?

You are welcome to decorate the space for your function and will be provided with room access from 12pm on the day to setup. *Hire of tablecloths will incur an additional fee
