Kindly read the general rules, conditions and explanations very carefully.NOVICE HIP HOP A dancer who has not come into a final in a solo / duo section at any recognized festival or competition
before. A Novice dancer may not compete in any Championship or WTC section.
When a Novice dancer obtains a place in a final in a solo / duo section in any recognized competition or festival he / she will automatically change to Amateur status.
AMATEUR HIP HOP A dancer is eligible to compete in an Amateur section if he / she has been placed in a final in a Novice solo / duo section in any recognized festival or competition. An Amateur dancer may not compete in any WTC section.
When an Amateur dancer obtains a place in a final in a solo / duo section in any recognized competition or festival he / she will automatically change to Championship status.
THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:1. A studio cover sheet must accompany each entry. Please see attached example page........
2. Entry Forms must be complete with correct spelling of dancer’s name, correct section numbers and correct age
categories.
3. All ages work the same for novice & amateur. The age is at 31 December of the new circuit year.
4. Entries for small groups and formations must be into the age group of the average age of all the dancers in the group. The
average age for small groups and formations is calculated by adding all the ages of the dancers within the group and
dividing the total by the number of dancers in the group. No dancer may dance in an age group under their own age.
5. Use ONE entry form for each dancer.
6. A dancer may only enter one solo / duo / small group / formation per dance discipline as well as age category, eg. Joe
Soap enters 12 - 15 years novice duo, he or she may not enter 12 - 15 amateur duo and 16 & Over duo.
7. Small groups and formations, who perform on a regular basis for an audience, are eligible for championships or WTC
categories - at the trainers’ discretion.
8. Entries to be faxed to Bev Ross on 086 649 9907 / 086 636 1654 together with Proof of Payment.
9. Entry fees are not refundable. No late entries will be accepted.
10. Teachers and trainers are to report to the registration table to collect cloth numbers and arm bands for their dancers.
Dancers are required to wear their arm bands for the duration of the competition.
11. A cash deposit of R 50.00 will be required for each Novice & Amateur cloth number issued. Deposits for cloth numbers
are payable at the registration table and will be refunded on return at the end of the competition.
12. CDs to be handed in by the teachers / trainers to the registration table.
13. CDs must be clearly marked, e.g formation title - Feel the Vibe: Novice, ll + Under, Section 2A.
14. If the length of the music is not in accordance with the rules, the formation will be penalised.
15. New time limit for formations is 2.00 minutes minium to 3:00 minutes maxim.
16. No teachers or parents are allowed in the marshaling areas.
17. Right of admission reserved.
18. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
19. Competitors must produce birth certificates to verify age should a challenge or question arise. Improper age entry will
result in disqualification.
20. The Compere will only announce the competitors number twice. A no-show will result in disqualification.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
21. Sections will be joined if insufficient entries are received.

23. Any trainer or dancer who fails to adhere to the official code of conduct will face disciplinary action as set out in

PERFORMANCES.22. All championship and WTC dancers are required to register with the SADTA Stage Branch one month before the closing date of
the competition. Championship and WTC dancers are required to forward registration forms for the new circuit year for 2010 together with proof of payment of R140.00 for annual registration fee. All dancers registering for WTC must be in possession of a valid South Africa passport. Dancers will only be entered into the competition for championship and WTC once it has been confirmed that they have registered for the new circuit year and that they have paid their annual registration fee.
23. WTC Dancers who have competed in 2009 must return their cloth numbers before the start of the new circuit year for 2010.24. WTC Rule Books are available from the SADTA office at R150.00 each.26. All reserves do not pay an entry fee unless they dance in the competition, however, must complete their registration form and
pay R140.00 annual registration fee.27. No Dancer may be added to a Small Group or Formation after the final qualifying competition. Every dancer in a small group
and or formation must have competed in at least one qualifying competition in the World Trial Circuit for that year. 28. Medals will be awarded to top 7 finalists of solo and duo sections. Only the top 3 finalists will be awarded for small groups and
formations.29. Entries for small groups and formations must be into the age group of the average age of all the dancers in the group. No
dancer may dance in an age group under their own age.30. Dancers participating in Solo & Duo Sections must have competed in the minimum required qualifying competitions in order
for their points to be recognized.31. Any trainer or dancer who fails to adhere to the official code of conduct will face disciplinary action as set out in accordance to
the SADTA Stage Branch Disciplinary Code.32. Small Groups and Formations who perform on a regular basis for an audience are eligible for Championship categories at the
discretion of the trainer.

COMPETITIONS AND WORLD TRIAL CIRCUIT CALENDAR FOR 2010SADTA (STAGE BRANCH) DISCIPLINES
These sections form the basis of the selection process in place to elect the South African dancers who will represent their country at the annual IDO (International Dance Organization) World Championships. The WTC Rule book stipulates the selection criteria governing South African Trials.
The IDO is the controlling body of the World Championships in the relevant disciplines. The competitions listed below serve as heats within the spectrum of the World Trial Circuit sections for 2010.
