years: Achievements of the department The Government of India Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Nehru Yuvakendra, Ramanathapuram District awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to a member of faculty for the services rendered to Women Community in Ramanathapuram District towards Women Empowerment. She was honoured on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2007 held at Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College, Kilakarai on 8 March, 2007. Five of our faculty have received awards on the College Day on 10/3/08 for the service rendered to the college from 2002 to 2007

Major project sanctioned to Dr.A.R.Nadira Banu Kamal on ‘Efficient Iteration free fractal Image Compression by the UGC, New Delhi, amount received Rs.11,11,800.

Achievements of the Faculty Six faculty members of the department have published eighteen papers in International Journals/National seminars/conferences. All the faculty members received college day cash award and the First and Second highest Cash awards are bagged by the Department. Two of the faculty members received Trophy for their outstanding contribution to the college in various committees. Dr.Nadira Banu Kamal is a reviewer of scientific journals, Resource person for workshop & refresher course and external subject expert in the Academic Council of LDC, Madurai. Package and/or software development is carried out mostly at central level to facilitate the smooth working of institutional activities. Department of computer Science and information Technology is actively involved for development of such software.Some of the software developed by department of computer and information Technology are Website development for the college, software for creating QuestionBank database which is being used by all the Departments and the controller section

Achievements of the Students: Students of B Sc IT got placed in TCS, COGNIZANT and WIPRO through off

campus drive held at Fatima College Madurai and Alagappa university Karaikudi respectively.

Conducted online certification examinations. State level inter-collegiate competitions have been organized for the past 12

conducted for the three years Through the PC Club of the departments we organize seminars and

workshops once a month on recent trends in IT. Organized interdepartmental competitions to showcase talent. . Students are

encouraged to participate in inter collegiate competitions related to subjects of study.

Conducting special classes on logic and reasoning to enable students to

acquire skills for aptitude tests. Slow learners are identified and special coaching classes are arranged for

them.

Interactive board is used to make the class lively and helps the teachers to adapt interactive teaching methodologies to enhance the teaching- learning process.
