The curricula vitae of those members are set out in annex III to document UNEP/POPS/POPRC.9/INF/4. 2. In addition, in accordance with the procedure provided in paragraph 9 of the annex to decision SC-1/7, during the period between the Committee’s ninth and tenth meetings Mr. Abdul Nabi Abdullah AL-Ghadban (Kuwait) was nominated by his Government to replace Ms. Lulwa Ali (Kuwait). The curricula vita of the member is set out in annex III to the present note. 3. A table summarizing the rotation of the membership of the Committee, including the names of the nominated members, is set out in annex I, and the contact information of the members is set out in annex II to the present note. The nominations of members are subject to confirmation by the Conference of the Parties at its seventh meeting. 4. As requested by the Conference of the Parties in paragraph 5 of decision SC-6/14, the Committee at its ninth meeting identified Ms. Estefânia Gastaldello Moreira (Brazil) as a Chair of the Committee on an interim basis for its tenth meeting. The Conference of the Parties is expected to confirm the election of the Chair at its seventh meeting. 5. The terms of office of the remaining 14 members, including Ms. Moreira, will expire on 4 May 2016. The Conference of the Parties will need to decide on a list of parties that are to nominate a member to the Committee for a term of office running from 5 May 2016 to 4 May 2020. Each region should therefore be ready to agree at the seventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties on the selection of such parties. Furthermore, in accordance with paragraph 20 of the terms of reference of the Committee and the past practice, the Conference of the Parties at its seventh meeting may wish to request the Committee to identify the Chair of the Committee on an interim basis for its twelfth meeting, to be held in 2017. 6. Newly designated members of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee and forthcoming rotation of the membership in May 2016

Note by the Secretariat

1. Pursuant to the terms of reference of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee contained in decision SC-1/7,1 the terms of office of 17 of the 31 members expired on 4 May 2014. New members to serve their four-year term as of 5 May 2014 have been nominated by the parties identified in the annex to decision SC-6/14 on the operation of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee. The curricula vitae of those members are set out in annex III to document UNEP/POPS/POPRC.9/INF/4.

2. In addition, in accordance with the procedure provided in paragraph 9 of the annex to decision SC-1/7, during the period between the Committee’s ninth and tenth meetings Mr. Abdul Nabi Abdullah AL-Ghadban (Kuwait) was nominated by his Government to replace Ms. Lulwa Ali (Kuwait). The curricula vita of the member is set out in annex III to the present note.

3. A table summarizing the rotation of the membership of the Committee, including the names of the nominated members, is set out in annex I, and the contact information of the members is set out in annex II to the present note. The nominations of members are subject to confirmation by the Conference of the Parties at its seventh meeting.

4. As requested by the Conference of the Parties in paragraph 5 of decision SC-6/14, the Committee at its ninth meeting identified Ms. Estefânia Gastaldello Moreira (Brazil) as a Chair of the Committee on an interim basis for its tenth meeting. The Conference of the Parties is expected to confirm the election of the Chair at its seventh meeting.

5. The terms of office of the remaining 14 members, including Ms. Moreira, will expire on 4 May 2016. The Conference of the Parties will need to decide on a list of parties that are to nominate a member to the Committee for a term of office running from 5 May 2016 to 4 May 2020. Each region should therefore be ready to agree at the seventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties on the selection of such parties.
