Any other relevant information: EUT 6 denotes that the printer switched mode power supply was equipment under test number 6 out of a total of 10. During the tests the power supply was subjected to a number of load conditions (25, 50 and 100%), which were set using an external load box consisting of capacitor and resistors. This was built by York EMC Services Ltd as part of an overall project to study the EMC emissions from switched mode power supplies and similar switched electronic load controllers under different load conditions.

2 Test Specification

2.1 Environment

The equipment under test is a 12V DC output switched mode power supply manufactured by Egston.

Note 2: The individual tests were specifically requested by the customer, in order that direct

comparisons could be made with a number of similar EUTs.

Note 3: Conducted emission measurements made in the frequency range 9kHz to 150kHz were

compared against limit line in EN55015:2000+A1:2001.

Note 4: The customer requested a class D limit for harmonic emissions for in order direct

comparisons can be made between items for the purposes of the investigation, a common limit was

used to test all items.

Note 1: The magnetic emissions tests were carried as pre-compliance tests at a distance of 3m and 1m, with a fixed antenna height in an anechoic chamber. During the tests the front face of the EUT was facing the antenna. Only one face was tested, (See Appendix 7, magnetic emissions 5.7.4).

4.3 Compliance statement

The EUT 6 – Plug in switched mode power supply, as tested, was shown to meet the requirements of the standards listed in 4.1 of this report, with the exception of harmonic emissions and conducted emissions.

5.10 Appendix 10 Reporting the results

Case A The equipment complies with the stated specification of the measured points, due allowance having been made for the uncertainty of the measurements. It may be deemed as a pass. Case B The measured result is below the specification limit by a margin less than the measurement uncertainty; it is therefore not possible to state compliance based on the stated level of confidence.
