• The Romans made great advances in many different areas that kept their empire strong.

leaders. b) Augustus Caesar: 1st emperor of Rome
– After the death of Julius Caesar, war occurred between his friends & enemies
– Augustus stopped the wars & restored order.

• Julius Caesar: Roman general killed for having too much power. War was the result, and Augustus was the solution.
