India emerging as R&D hub for some of the largest IT companies in the world.
– 25 per cent of fresh global investments being made to R&D centres in India. – India R&D centre is largest facility outside the US or Europe for many companies such as EMC, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Intel, Adobe, STMicroelectronics (STM), SAP..
Big investments announced in India:– Of 28 companies that outlined their investment plans, 17 have already infused capital. 6 of these companies have committed over US$ 1 billion each towards their India operations. – EMC is largest information infrastructure lab outside US; invested an additional US$250 million in India, doubling total investment to US$500 million by 2010.
