PLEASE NOTE
Entries in the showing section must enter from Felindre Rd. Lorries must park at the far end in the fenced off area. We are as usual
restricted for space and the stewards and Officials will be onsite to assist you. PLEASE abide by their guidance to ensure there is room
for everybody

Show Rules & Regulations
1. The show organisers reserve the right to refuse entries without assigning a reason
2. The show organisers have the right to cancel any part or the whole of the show.
3. No unauthorised persons shall enter the show or collecting rings.
4. The judges decision is final. All objections must be lodged in writing with the Section Secretary within 30 minutes of judging the competition involved. A deposit of £30 must accompany the objection, which will be returned if the objection is upheld by the Jury of Appeal.
5. Correct and safe dress must be worn at all times. Protective headgear must be worn at all times when mounted on any part of the showground. It is the duty of riders in the interest of safety to ensure that their headgear provides proper protection, is correctly fitted and remains in place.
6. All owners and riders (where applicable, parents or guardians) of horses/ponies competing in any event shall be deemed to be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the relevant breed or nationally recognised society.
7. Prize money must be collected from the Secretary on the day of the show, within 30 minutes of the close of the final class.
8. Each competitor, owner or where applicable parent or guardian shall be solely responsible for consequences of loss or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal in their care and indemnify the show organisers and Pencoed College, their officials, agents and invites against all liabilities, damage, actions, claims, proceedings, costs and or expense in relation to or arising from his/her presence at the show.
9. The show organisers, Pencoed College, their officials and agents cannot be held responsible for any accident, theft, loss or damage, however caused arising out of or at the show.
10.First Aid cover per horse or pony present is included in the entry fee for each class
11.Entries in all classes are restricted to horses and ponies registered with their National Breed Societies, unless otherwise specified.
12.All dogs MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES, otherwise they will be removed from the Showground.
13.No unauthorised persons may enter areas of the College campus not directly used in connection with the show activities. In particular no one must approach the stables or enclosures of the Colleges own horses or livestock.
14.In inclement weather all vehicles will remain stationary until a tractor is available to assist their exit.
15.The show uses stewards to ensure the safe running of the show, their advice should be followed at all times.
16.The show has a Health and Safety Policy which is available to all exhibitors. It is your responsibility to ensure your own safety and that of others by behaving in a proper and safe manner at all times.
17.The Committee retain the right to remove from the show field any person or animal whose behaviour is deemed to be unsafe.

One Wristband Pass for rider and a groom will be issued per entry. They must be worn in order to enter the Collecting Ring area .Whilst very effort will be made to keep within the time table Exhibitors are reminded that the time table is a guideline only, and that the Show Organisers reserve the right to alter Ring allocation or Timings as deemed necessary. The right is reserved that if there are insufficient entries to amalgamate classes, or to divide oversubscribed classes if numbers dictate IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY Of the Exhibitors to be on the show ground 1 hour before the
allotted time of their class. Classes will not commence prior to their NOT BEFORE time .
Exhibitors must be able to produce on demand Horse / Pony Passports.

Protective Headgear
Protective headgear must be worn by anybody riding a horse/pony for any reason. It is strongly rec-
ommended that hats to the standard PAS 015, EN 1384 or ASTM F1163 with either a kitemark of
SE1, correctly fastened, should be worn in all ridden classes. This includes all Judges who may be
required to ride and all grooms etc. riding outside the show rings. Any one not complying may be
asked to leave the showground.

Classic 2019, Equifest 2018 and BSPA 2018 . No membership is required to enter or compete in
any Championship Final
TSR Showing Finals : : This show is a qualifier for the 2018 Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY
of the Finals Central East Anglia, North West, North East, South Est, South, Wales & South West or
Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR Member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider / hander qualifies
and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals. TSR Riders Champs. 1&2nd placed riders
qualify and receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Champs The two highest handlers
with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand Class. Handlers must have their cards signed in

Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. VHS Final Qualification : All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. PLEASE NOTE RULE CHANGES FOR THIS YEAR 29 ROR JOCKEY CLUB NOVICE SHOW SERIES QUALIFIER 2018 Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, any height. Rider must be 15 years or over on 1st January. Horses should be plaited. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an open class inc :SEIB/HOYS, RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR Amateur Ridden show series qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes. Unaffiliated Show wins will not be taken into account. Horses WILL be ridden by the judge. Horses will be stripped for confirmation Horses may remain in Novice classes from January 1st to 31st December 2018.They are de-noviced when they win an open class but are still eligible to compete at the Ror National Show that August. The first 3 go forward to the championship at the RoR National Show at Aintree in August 2018. All entries must be registered with the RoR and have raced in GB. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. All those entering horses and/or participating in the Show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses rules and Regulations in force. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horses last run in a race (NH or Flat) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly . Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first TWO go forward to the championship in 2019. All entries must be registered with the RoR and include their registration number on entry form and have raced in GB. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Please be aware that the Show will split the class on the horses last run in a race (NH or Flat ) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. 36 EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN QUALIFIER
Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Member's Handbook. Open to S.S.A. Members and non- Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed member aged under 14 on the 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show to the junior member, judged to be the best turned out. Juniors must wear Hats to current Safety Standard or above. Sir Lancelot Memorial Qualifier : A Special Rosette will be offered to the Registered Adult Member, carrying their current Championship Points Card, of the SSA area in which the Show is organised, who during the Equitation Qualifier Class (irrespective of final placing) is judged to be the most elegant. That member will be eligible to compete in the Final for the Sir Lancelot Memorial Trophy (donated by the late Mrs E Skel ton) at the National Side Saddle Show. A Member may only qualify once per season between one National Show and the next and if the Judge’s first choice has already qualified, the rosette will be awarded to the next eligible competitor.

39 CLASSICAL LADIES SIDE SADDLE QUALIFIER Open to SSA Adult members and Non members, aged 18 and over on January 1st of the current year, riding side saddle on horses exceeding 148cm (14,2hh) To be judged 25% confirmation and action, 25% manners & way of going, 24% rider and 25% turnout of horse & rider by a SHBGB,BSHA,BSPS,P(UK) or SSA Panel Judge. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits.; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy dress and period costumes NOT permitted. NB Silk hats are permitted to be worn in this class AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Judges will use the mark sheet provided. COMMENCING 9A.M. BSHA RIDDEN COBS, HACKS & RIDING HORSE Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association . Competitors and horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day Ticket. Horses registered with the association must be owned exhibited and ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older . REGISTRATION NUMBER MUST BE STATED ON THE ENTRY FORM. THESE ARE CHECKED WITH BSHA DAY TICKETS Non members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 day tickets per exhibitor, per horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Amateur ,Home Produced, In Hand , Novice, Working, Young Rider and Open Affiliated Classes only But will not allow entry into RIHS or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a day ticket do not require JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a day ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA web-site .Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hacks, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB(GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes. The three highest place prize winners in all Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme classes at the National Championship Show 2018. The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse and HOYS Hunter classes ). The Association will award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all affiliated Open Cob classes( light and heavyweight only ). Any horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate eventer or above as at the 1st January of the current year is not eligible to compete in Classes 74 or 75. Such Retired horses may however compete in Class 73 . A rider may ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but must then select one horse to take through to the ride and confirmation stage. No change of rider is allowed. A Performance Medal to be awarded to the 1st place in each of the Sections above. The First and Second Prize Winners from each class will qualify for the National Supreme Brynseion Stud Ridden Welsh Section A/B/C/ D Championship and receive Qualification Cards. This is part of the National Welsh & Part-Bred Championship Show held at the 3 Counties Showground, Malvern.
COMMENCING NOT BEFORE 12.P.M. We are pleased to have been allocated Bronze Medal Status again this year by the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. To qualify for the medals of the WPCS exhibitors must enter their exhibits name and registration on the Entry Form which will then be printed in the Catalogue. The following is required by the WPCS
• Animals name and registration number to be included in the Catalogue.
• Name of sire and dam (particularly in the case of foals) to be included in the Catalogue.
• Name of the recorded owner as it appears in the animals passport at the time of the show (the name of the handler/producer is not sufficient on its own but may be printed as additional information) to be included in the catalogue.
• A final copy of this catalogue will have been lodged with the WPCS before the show. This ruling is intended to ensure that late entries are not being accepted as they are not eligible for an In Hand Medal

Ponies must be registered in the main body for their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books. Part-breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Champion ship Show 31st July to 2nd August 2018 . The highest placed pony if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.
