SustainableOceanSummit(SOS)2017:Theme

“TheOceanSustainableDevelopmentGoal(SDG14):BusinessLeadershipandBusinessOpportunities”Since2010,theWOCSustainableOceanSummit(SOS)hasbeentheuniquegatheringoftheworld’soceanindustries focused on sustainable development, science and stewardship of the global ocean. Theinternational ocean business community will gather again this year to advance leadership andcollaborationindevelopingindustry-drivensolutionstooceansustainabilitychallenges.TheSOS2017will:

• FocusonoceanbusinesscommunityleadershipinachievingtheU.N.“Ocean”SustainableDevelopmentGoal-SDG14.

• Developbusinessgrowthandinvestmentopportunitiesinoceansustainabledevelopment.• Ensurecontinuityandfollowthroughwiththethemes,discussions,andoutputsfromprevious

SOSevents.• BuildontheresultsandmomentumoftheU.N.Ocean/SDG14Conference(June2017),the

“OurOcean”conference(October2017)andotheroceaneventsof2017bybringingthesetotheuniqueconveningoftheglobaloceanbusinesscommunitythattheSOSprovides

TheSOS2017themerecognizes:

• ThegrowthoftheOceanEconomyanditscontributiontofood,energy,transport,communicationsandotherneedsofsocietyaspartoftheU.N.SDGprocess/Agenda2030.

• TheroleoftheOceanBusinessCommunityoverthenext15years,andbeyond,inensuringoceansustainabledevelopment.

SustainableOceanSummit2017:ProgramTopics
