JJeerrrryy WWeesseelleeyy HHaarrrriiss taught choral and orchestral music in theBeaverton (Oregon) School District for thirty years. His concertchoirs frequently sang at state and regional conferences ofACDA and MENC as an example of excellence in music educa-tion.
Jerry received his BM and MM in Music Education from Lewisand Clark College. He later earned his Doctorate in Educationfrom the University of Oregon with an emphasis on teachingchoral and orchestral music. Dr. Harris went on to teach choral
music and music education at Portland State University. Jerry is a past president of theNorthwest Division of Music Educators National Conference (MENC). He served as thefirst Consultant on Music Education for the Oregon State Department of Education. Hefrequently serves as a choral adjudicator and choral festival director in the Northwest. Dr.Harris is a prolific composer and arranger with over 850 choral publications sung byschool and church choirs throughout the USA and internationally.
