Boeing 737/757/767. They have recently been awarded an ISO 14001 certificate which recognizes environmental awareness excellence, and are the only US battery OEM that has this certificate. Their batteries also provide a 4-5% weight reduction which will create fuel savings for the entire fleet.

By utilizing a new manufacturer for American’s on-board water bottles, American will reduce carbon emissions by 1,000 pounds and plastic usage by 20,000 pounds.
Lightweight Seat Cushions
Coach seat cushions in the 767 are expected to be replaced starting May 2010, and the MD80 fleet is expected to be replaced in 2011. This project has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by 600,000 pounds.
