Well-crafted piece on a little slice ofDelta culture. The writer deftly
weaved in quotes and details to
create a pleasant and educational
read.
This photo was shot from such an
unusual angle that the judge had to
stare at it for some time to take it in.
But it illuminated the story well in a
way that words just can't.
While sports photography lends itself
to great photos, this stand-alone is a
stand-out because it shows the
skiers determination amid defyinggravity. Excellent cropping and
composition.
This was a competitive category with
excellent entries all around. But this
set of photos really captured the
mood, the intensity and the
exhilaration of homecoming.

poetry. Sadly no short stories. A
tough competitor in a category
tending to be dominated byjournalistic entries. Still, well done
and highly readable.
Interesting story selection,
engagingly written. Clean layout
although a bit repetitive. Limited
reporting and sourcing but a solid
effort.

A good student newspaper.

Solid journalism throughout this
paper. The focus is clearly on what's
happening on campus and what
students are interested in. Stories
are well written and edited andproperly played. Headlines are tight.
