Dwight School Calendar 2014-2015
A Year in Sports
The Dwight School Foundation | Annual Fund 2014-15
Founded in 1872, Dwight School New York is an interna-tionally renowned independent school (nursery through grade twelve) dedicated to “igniting the spark of genius” in every child. With a world-class faculty and students representing more than forty countries, Dwight was the first school in the U.S. to offer the comprehensive IB curriculum, recognized as the gold standard in pre-university preparation by top colleges and universities worldwide.A gift to the Annual Fund is one of the most powerful ways to invest in the future of Dwight. Your generous support helps
fund student financial aid, faculty professional development, and other enrichment items. Your gift also ensures the finan-cial strength and flexibility for Dwight to fulfill its mission. We encourage you to join parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, and friends in supporting this critical fund. Please remember the current giving year ends June 30, 2015. Thank you in advance for leading the charge in your commitment to Dwight. For more information, please call Susan Beyrle, Development Director, at 646.400.0309.

Timothy House Field Day, a longstanding tradition in our Lower School, was held for the first time ever at the Dwight School Athletic Center last year. This amazing space was the perfect venue for both indoor and outdoor fun for our students. The kids were broken up into teams and competed in their color team tshirts. We can’t wait for another great Field Day in spring 2015!

At Dwight ECD, Physical Education is an important part of the school day. By using carefully selected objects, the students develop gross and fine motor skills, demonstrate awareness and understanding of safety rules, and engage in a variety of physical fitness activities.

Spring 2014 was a great season for our Varsity Boys Tennis team. The highlight of the season came from the Billie Jean King Tennis Center when the boys capped off their undefeated ISAL season with a clean sweep at a tournament. Two of our players won the top two singles draws while another won the number three slot. Two sets of our doubles partners won their brackets to complete a 5-0 sweep.

The Boys Varsity Soccer season completed the one thing that eluded them from the previous year, winning the ACIS playoff crown. Tied 0-0 at the end of regulation, Dwight scored twice in overtime to seal the victory over defending champs Friends Seminary. The win capped a great overall season record of 11-2!
Dwight School provides its students at every age with fun opportunities to participate in athletics. Hosted at the Dwight School Athletic Center, our students played tons of athletic games outside on the roof, as well as on the surprise obstacle course! Always a fun event to look forward to at the end of each year, Field Day this year was extra special at its newer — and more spacious — location.
