2015 Annual Report
Each year, the Northeast Corridor (NEC) Steering Committee develops and implements a
Work Plan of short-term tasks to facilitate the accomplishment of the of the goals and
strategies of the 2014-2018 NEC Revitalization Plan.
The purpose of this document is to highlight the outcomes of the 2014 NEC Work Plan in
each of the four Revitalization Plan focus areas: Organization, Design, Marketing, and
Business Development.

ORGANIZATION
DESIGN
Organization of a strong support base is critical for maintaining the
momentum of a revitalization program over the course of many
years. A strong organizational structure includes a comprehensive
representation of stakeholder groups, is action-focused, and evolves
as the work plan progresses.
Year 2015 focused on growing the support base of the NEC business
community through the NEC Business Alliance.

Design refers to the appearance and function of NEC properties and
infrastructure. Improving the overall design of the corridor will make
the area more attractive to investors and customers.

Marketing positions the NEC for investment by promoting the corri-
dor’s benefits, potential, and opportunities for business develop-
ment.
Year 2015 focused on improving communications between all
stakeholders via social media networks and enhanced marketing ma-
terials.

Business development is essential to the NEC’s long-term eco-
nomic vitality. It is important for business attraction efforts that the
spending power and demand for goods and services in the abutting
residential areas remains strong.

The Northeast Corridor (NEC) is located in
NE San Antonio along Perrin Beitel and Nac-
ogdoches Roads between NE Loop 410 and
O’Conner Rd. It includes Naco Perrin Blvd.
and sections of Thousand Oaks Dr.
In 2014, the City of San Antonio adopted a
multi-year, public-private Revitalization Plan
for the NEC to bring economic development
and reinvestment to the area.
