Course GoalDescribe the principles and innovations in a milieu-oriented holistic neurorehabilitation program in order to improve the long-term outcomes of patients and their families after acquired brain injuries.
Objectives of the Conference1. Describe the comprehensive approach of milieu-oriented holistic neuro-
rehabilitation for patients with acquired brain injuries2. Identify technological innovations and creative interventions to augment
the effectiveness of compensatory strategies so as to increase the functional independence of patients with acquired brain injuries
3. Describe the collaboration process with the interdisciplinary team and treating physicians to improve the community re-integration and return to work processes of patients with acquired brain injuries
4. Explain techniques to engage and empower families in the neurorehabilitation process to enhance the long-term outcomes.
Intended AudienceCurrent and future neurorehabilitation professionals, including, but not limited to: Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Recreational Therapists, Rehabilitation Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Clinical Psychologists, and Physiatrists.
Continuing EducationDignity Health Arizona Region is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Arizona Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.This program is co-sponsored by the Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA). AzPA is
approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. AzPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
This course is offered for 0.425 CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area).
