Thank you for being part of ours.
We hope you had a great time in St. Louis!!
Robert Smith Sr., M.D. On December 19, 2018, God called Otrie Bertrelle Hickerson Smith to
Himself where she was welcomed by parents Carl, Sr. and Murphy, brothers
Carl Jr. and Charles, and son Robert. Otrie was married to Dr. Robert Smith,
Sr. As accomplished as she was as a physician, Otrie’s real passion and pride
were in her roles as mother, wife, and servant of the Lord. The three were
inextricably bound together and manifested in a variety of ways. She poured
her life into the lives of her family. She took seriously the words of her
mother Murphy who said “ I live to make a contribution to humanity through
my children” She is survived by husband Dr. Robert Smith Sr., son Claude
Alexander, Jr. (Kimberly), daughters Donna Elizabeth Smith and Pamela
(Columbus) Broadnax.

We’re going to blow the roof off!
Joe started his career (while in diapers) on January 21,1975 at the Missouri
History (Hysterical) Museum located in the Jefferson Memorial building in
Forest Park. When Joe started the staff was small and exhibitions often went
unchanged for decades. Joe arrived for work with black hair and was eager to
take on many tasks. He quickly became the wearer of many hats including
housekeeping, maintenance and audio visual. However, over the years he
found his passion in HVAC. Along with Joe’s career path, there were lots of
changes at the museum. Period rooms that were installed in 1959 evolved.
The Library and Research Center opened in December of 1991 and the more
recent addition is The Soldiers Memorial Bldg. Joe now ends his career as
