GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
1. The Contractor is responsible for complying with all applicable codes.2. The contractor shall verify all dimensions in the field. Report discrepancies to the architect
for decisions prior to proceeding with the work. Do not scale the drawings.3. The First Floor Top of Slab Elevation of 100'.0" on the architectural drawings is equal to the
First Floor Elevation of 471.83' on the site drawings.4. Soils and subsurface data is based on geotechnical engineering investigations performed
by ECS Central, PLLC, and documented in a report dated February 24, 2015.5. Dimensions on the architectural drawings are from finished face of GYP unless noted
otherwise. Masonry dimensions on plans, elevations and sections are nominal. Masonrydimensions on details are actual.
6. Provide suitable blocking in MTL stud walls for all wall.mounted objects.7. Sheets in the A.10X series are intended to show overall dimensions, general plan
information, indicators of overall building sections and elevations, and scoping informationpertaining for floor/roof infill, overbuild.
8. All references to structural sizes on architectural drawings shall be for reference only. Referto structural drawings for any and all information related to the structural portion of theproject.
GENERAL STRUCTURAL DEMOLITION NOTES
1. The contractor shall use extreme caution in the demolition of existing structures. Suchdemolition shall be performed in such a manner as to maintain the structural stability, capacityand integrity of all existing structures to remain. Provide shoring as required.
2. The contractor shall provide temporary working platforms as required to control demolition andprevent impact onto or overstress of existing floor structures to remain below.
3. The contractor shall prepare a written demolition plan to be submitted to the architect forreview. This plan is to indicate, at a minimum, sequence of demolition operations, location ofproposed temporary shoring, scaffolding, bracing, etc. and proposed method of demolition.Where required, the contractor shall retain the services of a registered professional engineerlicensed to practice in the state of Tennessee for the design of temporary shoring andbracing. The review of the proposed demolition plan is for conformance with the designconcept and for general compliance with the information contained in the contract documents.Comments regarding these submittals do no relieve the contractor from compliance with thecontract documents. The contractor is responsible for performing their work in a safe andsatisfactory manner.
4. Existing structural framing and conditions in the building have been assumed based on limitedinformation on existing building drawings and limited access to and view of structuralmembers. The contractor shall confirm all existing conditions that have been assumed on thecontract documents which include but are not limited to existing materials, span direction, spanlength, framing size, and location of framing. Any variation in existing conditions may besubject to re.analysis and review for structural adequacy. Reinforcement and designinformation contained in the structural documents may be subject to change depending on thevarying conditions in the field. Contractor to notify the engineer of record once concealingfinishes are removed for verification of existing conditions prior to demotion of structuralelements and fabrication of new structural elements.
