General Information
Micromanipulation is the technique where by sperm, egg and embryos can be handled on an
inverted microscopic stage to perform minute procedures. These micro surgical techniques
have potential applications in infertility treatment and research involving human gametes and
embryos.
The Division of Clinical Embryology , Kasturba Medical College in association with Manipal
Association of Clinical Embryologists (MACE) invites you to participate in this 4th Annual hands
on workshop on micromanipulation to be held from 21st July to 2nd August 2014 at Manipal.
This two weeks training program is designed to provide both theoretical understanding and
practical training in various aspects of micromanipulation. This program is a practical based
learning with intense hands on training. It is specifically designed for Embryologists interested
in acquiring skill and to update knowledge in the laboratory aspects of micromanipulation
techniques.
This workshop consists of didactic lectures, discussions with experts, hands on training with
animal models and exposure to various practical procedures used in an ART Laboratory. We
have a team of expert faculties working in the field of Clinical Embryology to provide you an
excellent technical knowledge in Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), laser assisted
embryo hatching and many other micromanipulation techniques which are commonly used in
ART laboratory.
How to reach Manipal?
Manipal is well connected by road with other parts of Karnataka. Daily bus services from
Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Goa and Kerala are provided by state and private bus companies.
Nearest railway station is Udupi which is only 3 km away from Manipal. Nearest airport is
Mangalore which is 65 km away from Manipal. Bus service and taxi are available to reach the
destination from both railway station and airport.
In July- August, generally monsoon is in its peak hence please do not forget to bring an umbrella with you.

Workshop Registration
Registration fees: INR 75,000/- (inclusive of 12.5% service tax) (US$1500)
Registration fee includes hands on training and course material. Accommodation in university guest house may be arranged on payment basis (approximately Rs 600/- per day).
