May 11. 2015
Dear Volunteers and Esteemed Guests,
As we begin our 42nd
year, we continue to face many formidable and yet exciting
challenges ahead. More than ever before, our local community non-profit agencies
continue to require our volunteers to keep in pace with the continued demand to
serve our county. These agencies are always looking for volunteers to provide needed
services as well as making due with diminishing fiscal resources from year to year.
Our Medical transportation program alone provided over 1,381 rides to medical
appointments, serving our fastest growing population; our frail and elderly. Without
RSVP volunteers serving in Medical Transport, Meals on Wheels and “Touchstone”
programs, our homebound seniors would not be able to continue to live in their
homes aging in place.
Our Sullivan County Legislature and Local Community Leaders continue to be
steadfast and confident in our RSVP project. Their support and continued financial
commitment helps our volunteers carry on the dedicated service provided to our
community.
Our volunteers are generous, knowledgeable, vigilant, understanding,
compassionate, inspired, and most of all dedicated in their commitment to civic duty
with pride in Sullivan County and the United States of America.
Thank You for all You do! As the RSVP Project Director you have my
continued admiration and awe for all of you and the incredible community spirit and
fellowship you embody as volunteers helping our county. RSVP is a wonderful
program without it I fear our community would find itself unable to serve our most
needy and fragile populations. We at RSVP are fortunate to work with a remarkable
group of people: Our Sullivan County Legislature, OFA staff, all of our community
partners and most of all the RSVP volunteers!
Compliments on 42 years of Outstanding Service to our County and its
Residents!
