The American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio pre-vents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

There will be shifts for volunteers to tear down and set up for the event and to check in donors as they arrive. You can also sign up to give blood (not mandatory).

Beach House and FOCUS joined to become Leading Families Home where we have collectively helped households transition from homelessness to per-manent housing since 1921. Our mission: Helping families transition from homelessness to perma-nent housing.

PROJECT 1-6 Volunteers: Weed the front and back yards, and do deep cleaning around the house. Supplies and tools will be provided but bring your own work gloves and water bottles.PROJECT 2-6 Volunteers: Prepare lunch (simple menu & food provided) to be served at noon. We will also pre-pare cakes or cookies that will be served for eve-ning snack and pancakes that will be frozen for lat-er use for weekend breakfasts.

6-10 Volunteers: Volunteers will disassemble furni-ture to reclaim the metals for cash to put back into the mission. Team members should bring tools with them for this project. If you will be volunteer-ing at Cherry Street, please create a volunteer pro-file at: www.cherrystreetmission.org/volunteer.


If possible they would like you to attend an orien-tation if you have never volunteered there before. Their Volunteer Orientations are the first Saturday of the month at 1pm, and the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6pm.

Providing childcare gives other parents/guardians an opportunity to serve in the locations where it is not practical to have infants and younger chil-dren present. There will be crafts, games, educational booths and lunch will be served. SHIFT 1: set up, then you will help with a craft, game or food service task. Church Women United Thrift Shop provides emer-gency food, clothing, eyeglasses, shoes, prescrip-tions, etc. for those in need. The Thrift Shop works with local services of welfare, the Community De-velopment Center, Lucas County nurses, school prin-cipals, area ministers and many other social agen-cies. Partners for Clean Streams Inc. is striving for abun-dant open space and a high quality natural environ-ment; adequate floodwater storage capacities and flourishing wildlife; stakeholders who take local ownership in their resources; and rivers, streams and lakes that are clean, clear and safe.

Work w/ Cub Scouts to pick up debris from waterway. Bring gloves, trash bags and water bottle. Terrain can be physically challenging. Wear shoes/clothes that can get wet/muddy. We will notify you when location is assigned.

Volunteer to help a senior who needs a helping hand for fall cleanup and/or light maintenance. You will be notified of the Sylvania area address after you sign up. It would be helpful to bring yard tools or other common hand tools as appropriate for the jobs once they are assigned. Bring water bottle and wear work clothes.

Changing Hearts, Transforming Lives, Impacting the World is the essence of what Kairos does. The mission of Kairos is to help grow and nurture strong Christian Communities within state and fed-eral correctional institutions.

The S4 team will be baking and packing cookies according to the guidelines for the Kairos prison ministry. We will be taking donations of cookie dough in advance (can be home-made, store bought, pre-portioned frozen etc.) Label it for S4/Kairos and leave it in your church refrigerator.

Metroparks of the Toledo Area is a public agency serving the citizens of Lucas County by providing a regional system of clean, safe, natural parks. 20 Volunteers needed to work on the Single-track Mountain Bike Trail.

Volunteers must be 12 and over: Tasks will include

moving dirt, clearing brush and limbs and possibly helping with light construction. Bring work gloves, and water bottle.

Reynolds Elementary: We will tie blankets with and for the children in the after school program, a ministry of The University Church.

This group meets every Saturday, (rain, shine, or blizzard.) Several groups gather to be in service with people who are unsheltered. Everyone eats,


meets, and socializes together. Let’s express our creativity! Please do not wear S4 t-shirts to this lo-cation as we try not to distinguish between those being served and those serving.

Come shine the light of Jesus at this community cel-ebration where everyone is welcome. Your compas-sion for others will help alleviate relational poverty for those who may be unsheltered or who may just need to know someone cares. There will be activi-ties and craft tables with materials provided.
