WHAT IS THE KORAN? (a)

Islam believes:

the Koran is the perfect, eternal, universal, final word of Allah.

The Koran has not one error. [CSPI, p. ix (all)]

COMPARING THE BIBLE & KORAN

Trying to compare the Bible with the Koran can be misleading & erroneous.

The Bible is “complete” within itself.

The Koran is incomplete, two other sources are required to know the basic practices and and beliefs of Islam. [SG (all)]

THE SUNNAH

A compilation of Mohammed’s examples.

A crucial complement to the Koran.

Some Sunnah prevail over the Koran.e.g., the Koran refers to 3 daily prayers (24:58 and 11:116); the Sunnah sets 5. [SG (all)]

THE HADITH

A brief account or news about something.

A hadith’s length can vary; from one sentence to a full page.

Islam’s Hadith is an account about what Muhammed did and said (the Sunnah).

Many collections of Hadith exist. [SG (all)]

SIRA

The Sira: Muhammed’s biography.

The Sira provides the content and chronology of Muhammed’s life.

As such, it provides context and chronology for the Koran. [SG]

THE ISLAMIC TRILOGY (a)

The Islamic Trilogy is comprised of:

The Koran.

The Sira (biographies of Mohammed), by Ishaq and Al Tabari.

The Hadith (Traditions of Mohammed), by Bukhari and Muslim. [CSPI, p. ix (all)]

THE ISLAMIC TRILOGY (b)

The Trilogy specifies the foundation and totality of Islam.

All Islamic law, the Shariah, is based upon the Trilogy.

Every political and religious statement and action of Islam comes from the Trilogy. [CSPI, p. ix (all)]

WHAT IS A KAFIR? (a)

One who denies Allah’s truth and existence. [YE, P.67]

Hated, despised by Allah. [CSPI, p. 4]

Evil, disgusting, lowest life. [CSPI, p. 4]

WHAT IS A KAFIR? (b)

Kafirs: Can be killed, tortured. [CSPI, p. 4]

Can be lied to, cheated. [CSPI, p. 4]

Worth less than an unbeliever. [CSPI, p. 4]

POLITICAL ISLAM (a)

Islam is primarily a political ideology. [CSPI, p. x]

To fully understand all Islamic actions and statements, the Trilogy must be used, not just the Koran. [CSPI, p. ix]

POLITICAL ISLAM (b)

Hell -- for sinners who deny Islam; primarily political.

“Political” hell is mentioned in the Koran 146 times.

“Moral-failing” hell is mentioned only nine times in the Koran.

Thus: The Koran is 94% political and 6% religious. [CSPI, p. 139 (all)]

Islam: A political sys w/some religion.

When Islam is weak, be peacful; When strong, attack kafirs.

Dualism: two sets of rules -- one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims.

Humor -- none allowed toward Islam or Mohammed.

Hypocrite -- a doubter who once believed (one who had submitted).

Evil -- anything that resists Islam.

Only Islam is right -- all else is wrong.

Truth -- everything that Mohammed said or did. [CSPI, pp. 20-27 (all)]

Innocent deaths -- collateral damage; don’t worry about them.

Allah gives Muslims right to “hurt” kafirs and take their property.

World has two states: believers, kafirs.

Any means okay to obtain Allah’s will.

For those who resist: single them out, threaten, insult, attack and kill them.

Violence is promised to anyone that resists Islam.

Islam is absolutely correct in all things.

Jews didn’t accept Mohammed as a prophet in Medina.

Mohammed believed His coming was predicted in an uncorrupted Torah.

According to Mohammed, only His “Torah” (the Koran) is true.

According to Mohammed, Jews’ sins so great that Allah changed them to apes.

According to Mohammed, Islam defines all other religions.

AN OBSERVATION

It’s been said that most Muslims are peaceful and moderate; that only a few are radical.

How many radicals did it take to pull off the 9/11 tragedy? Nineteen.

Are we safe because there are large numbers of peaceful Muslims?

Is it important that we all “watch our backs?”
