Dear Parents,
ANNUAL GOLDEN BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL ART SHOW —ARTS BY THE BAY
We have already commenced all the preparations for our annual Art Show. The theme this
year is ‘Arts By The Bay—Colour’. In term four we will be celebrating the work of all students with
a Visual and Performing Arts display on the lawn and in the undercover area after school on
Monday 26 November.
The art work is coming together beautifully, and the instrumental music on the night is sure to
blow your socks off! The P&C will be organising a sausage sizzle as part of the evening. You
and your family are invited to enjoy a family picnic on the lawn as you listen to our creative
students play. Look out for the posters!
It’s a terrific opportunity for you to celebrate with your child and enjoy their art and musical
achievements.
FACTION CARNIVAL
Congratulations to our four school factions for all their efforts leading up to our senior jumps and
faction carnivals. Kids really love this time where everyone gets an chance to continuously
engage in activities. Mr Green has worked tirelessly to ensure that there is something for
everyone on each of the days. As always, I look forward to seeing parents in attendance. Our
community involvement is always superb and everyone tries just that little bit more when they
see their families at our events.
NAPLAN RESULTS
NAPLAN results for students in years three and five were sent home in envelopes addressed to
parents on the last day of term.
Parents are reminded that this is only a snapshot on one day of the year and that it is best to use
the results in conjunction with other school results and information. A full conversation with the
classroom teacher will provide you with an informed view of how your child is progressing over
time. This is highly recommended.
END OF TERM
I wish all families a safe and relaxing break with family and friends.
Students return to school on Tuesday 9 October 2018. I look forward to welcoming everyone
back!

2019 Enrolments
Enrolments are being accepted for 2019.
If you know you are moving in to the
area please place your enrolment for
2019 now. All current kindergarten
students who are local to the area will
automatically be rolled over in to Pre-
primary for 2019.
All current Kindergarten students residing
outside of the Golden Bay zone will need
to enrol at their local primary school.
VERY IMPORTANT - School Car Parks
We are very fortunate to have a total of 96 car parking bays
for parents and visitors in the Tangadee Road and Arizona
Parade car parks down either side of the school. A further 28
indented parallel bays can be accessed roadside.
For safety reasons I allocated the car park at the front of the
school on Thundelarra Drive as a ‘Staff Only’ car park. A
number of families cross in the ‘walk area’ of the car park at
the start and finish of school.
Students can be very difficult to see next to cars. It is
extremely important that this car park (reserved for staff) is
not used as a drop off and pick up point.
With good reason, I respectfully ask that parents do not use
this car park at all (the only exception is the use of the
reserved parking for disabilities).

All competitors will receive ribbons and stickers throughout the carnivals.
Each student will also receive a certificate in their faction colour to take home.
Year 4, 5 and 6 students who earn the most points in the championship events will receive a

RE: Kindergarten & Pre-primary Arrival & Dismissal
In the interest of ongoing safety, I ask that all students be dropped off and picked up
from the Kindergarten and Pre-primary classrooms by a parent or a nominated adult.
If there is a change to drop off or pick up arrangements please notify the classroom
teacher and Administration staff so that your child’s contact list can be updated.
Adults nominated by parents will be asked to provide proof of identification by the
teacher at the time of collection.
If you require further information please contact me on 9583 8800.
Thank you for your support with this important matter.
Kind regards,
