1 Operate IF board’s ODU-PWR switch accurately .
Before turning the toggle lever switch, you must pull it out slightly.
Otherwise, the switch will be broken, and the project will be delayed.
Every team, every member should and must know it.
2 Do not remove or insert the IF Jumper when the ODU is powered on.
Before removing or inserting the IF Jumper, you must power off the ODU (turn off the switch of IFE2 ODU-PWR).
Otherwise, the board will be damaged, and the project will be delayed.

Installation– ODU
Installing an ODU on an Antenna
In this case, use four latches to mount an ODU on the back of the antenna.Follow the steps below:
1 Installing the AntennaFollowing the instructions packed with it, install the antenna.
2 Setting the Antenna PolarizationBy default, the antenna applies vertical polarization. If horizontal polarization is required, rotate the feed boom at the back of the antenna to change the polarization direction of the antenna.
3 Installing the ODU on the AntennaUse four latches to mount the ODU on the antenna.

Setting the Antenna PolarizationBy default, the antenna applies vertical polarization. If horizontal polarization is required, rotate the feed boom at the back of the antenna to change the polarization direction of the antenna.

ProcedureStep 1 Check if the antenna is vertically polarized.
Step 2 Loosen the fixing bolts enough to allow the feed boom to rotate freely.

Step 3 Rotate the feed boom 90 degrees to the right or left until its positioning pin plugs into the positioning slot in the base.

Step 4 Tighten the fixing bolts.

ProcedureStep 1 Remove the protective caps from the feed boom of the antenna and from the ODU antenna interface. Apply appropriate lubricant to the gasket of the feed boom.
Step 2 Place the ODU antenna interface against the feed boom. Slowly fit the feed boom in to make the four ODU latches engage the four antenna hooks.

Installing Two ODUs on an Antenna
Installation– ODU
In this case, use a hybrid coupler to mount two ODUs on the back of the antenna.
Setting the Antenna Polarization
By default, the antenna applies vertical polarization. If horizontal polarization is required, rotate the feed boom at the back of the antenna to change the polarization direction of the antenna.
Step 1 Check the polarization direction of the antenna.If The antenna is vertically polarized, Go to the next step.The antenna is horizontally polarized, Go to Step 3.
Step 2 Remove the protective cap from the antenna interface on the coupler. Replace the polarization converter in the interface by a horizontal polarizer.

Step 3 Remove the protective caps from the feed boom and the antenna interface. Apply appropriate lubricant to the gasket of the feed boom.

Installing the ODU Protection Grounding Cable
ProcedureStep 1 Fix the OT terminal of the protection grounding cable onto the grounding stud of the ODU.
Step 2 Connect the other end of the protection grounding cable to the grounding point on the tower thatis the nearest to the ODU.

Installing the IF CableOne end of the IF cable is connected to the ODU, while the other end is connected to the IF jumper from the IDU.

ProcedureStep 1 Depending on the distance between the IDU and the ODU, cut off a length of IF cable with a slack of 3 m to 5 m.
Step 2 Refer to A Terminating the IF Cable with Connectors, make a connector for the end that is connected to the ODU.Take protective measures for the connector to avoid damage to the connectors during installation.
Step 3 Affix temporary labels to both ends of the IF cable.
Step 4 Leave enough slack of the IF cable for routing and binding it along the mast, wiring ladder and wiring frame.

Step 5 Insert the type-N male connector of the IF cable to the IF interface of the ODU and screw tight.

Grounding the IF Cable In general, the IF cable should be grounded to a minimum of three points. When the IF cable is longer than 60 meters, add a grounding point for every extra 50 meters. The place about 1 m away from the ODU and 1 m away from the cable entry are propositional grounding point. All of outdoor connector should be waterproofed.

The angle between IF cable and grounding cable is the smaller the better.
The angle should <15°.

Check IF Cable InstallationPorthole: IF cable must be up-tilted or have Waterproof curve in the entrance of porthole.The IF cable route and position for the cabling should be designed beforehand and arranged neatly. IF cable turns should be smooth, and the bending radius should be larger than 30 cm.

Wrapping a layer of PVC tape.
Wrapping three layers of waterproof insulation tape.
Wrapping three layers of PVC tape over the waterproof insulation tape.
Using the outdoor bundling strap to bind the PVC tape tight at both ends.
