EADERSHIP THROUGH INNOVATION ®
There are three primary drivers for CTB’s business. These are (1) the growing world population; (2) the tendency of the developing world, as it advances, to add protein to its diet; and (3) the need for increasingly efficient use of harvested grain as well as for greater efficiency in the commercial production of poultry, pigs and eggs.
As the world’s population continues to grow, more food will be required to feed its people. Additionally, the anticipated rate of growth in the world’s developing regions substantially exceeds that of the more developed nations.
To meet its growing demand for animal protein, the developing world must adopt new and improved technologies for poultry and livestock production as well as for grain storage, handling and conditioning, and it must achieve greater efficiency in those processes.
During recent decades, the world’s cropland per person has decreased steadily. Meanwhile, each year some of the grain grown on the available cropland is wasted due to losses resulting from improper storage, handling and conditioning. Further, demand on the world's grain harvest for the production of alternative energy sources is increasing. These factors combine to make efficient use of the harvest from available cropland essential.
With about $600 million in annual sales and a strong, global distribution network, CTB is positioned to help. CTB’s industry-leading systems help improve the efficiency with which animals convert valuable feed into protein by reducing feed and grain waste, and by maintaining an optimum environ-ment for animal growth and productivity. Its systems also help protect feed and grain from loss during storage, handling and conditioning.
