I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

B. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESAFETY OF PERSONNEL AND PROPERTY ON AND AROUND THE JOBSITE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALLPROVIDE SHORING, BRACING, GUYS, ETC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONALSTANDARDS.
C. ALL CONSTRUCTION, TESTING, AND INSPECTIONS SHALL CONFORM TO THE BUILDING CODEREFERENCED UNDER THE HEADING “BASIS OF DESIGN” BELOW.
D. STANDARDS REFERENCED IN THESE DRAWINGS SHALL BE THE LATEST EDITION, UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED.
E. SEE DRAWINGS OTHER THAN STRUCTURAL FOR; OPENINGS IN WALLS AND FLOORS REQUIREDBY MEP FEATURES; CURBS; SLOPES; DRAINS; PADS; EMBEDDED ITEMS; ETC. COORDINATE THESEITEMS WITH THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS.
F. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AT THE JOB SITE BEFORE COMMENCINGWORK AND SHALL REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE ARCHITECT AND SEOR.

A. ALL WOOD FRAMING SHALL CONFORM TO NATIONAL DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS (NDS) FORWOOD CONSTRUCTION AND APA PDS, PLYWOOD DESIGN SPECIFICATION.
B. ALL WOOD FRAMING SHALL BE DOUGLAS FIR LARCH, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. GRADESHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
1. JOISTS = 12. BEAMS = 13. BLOCKING AND MISCELLANEOUS = 2
C. REJECTION OF WOOD MEMBERS: THE PROVISION IN DOC PS 20 (AS REFERENCED BY CBC2303.1.1) WHICH PERMITS FIVE PERCENT OF THE MATERIAL TO FALL BELOW GRADE SHALL NOTBE CONSTRUED TO PERMIT BELOW-GRADE MATERIAL TO BE USED AS LOAD-CARRYINGMEMBERS WHICH HAVE BEEN DESIGNED FOR SPECIFIC ALLOWABLE STRESSES ANDACCEPTABLE SAFETY FACTORS. MATERIALS WHICH FALL BELOW GRADE SHALL BE REJECTEDFOR LOAD-CARRYING USE. WOOD MEMBERS WHICH ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY DESIGN LOADSAND WHICH THE PROJECT ARCHITECT, SEOR OR INSPECTOR JUDGE TO BE MISGRADED SHALLBE REINSPECTED BY A QUALIFIED LUMBER GRADING INSPECTOR TO VERIFY THE PROPERGRADING OF THE MATERIAL. E. WOOD CONNECTORS SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BY SIMPSON STRONG TIE OR EQUALPRODUCT IF APPROVED BY SEOR. SIMPSON DESIGNATIONS USED IN THESE DRAWINGS.
F. LAG BOLTS AND UNFINISHED MACHINE BOLTS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A307. PROVIDEWASHERS UNDER THE HEADS AND NUTS OF ALL BOLTS AND LAG SCREWS BEARING ON WOOD.
G. ANCHOR RODS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM F1554 GR 36.
H. FASTENERS INSTALLED IN PRESSURE TREATED OR FIRE RETARDANT TREATED WOODSHALL BE GALVANIZED.
IV. POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS
A. POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS INCLUDE EXPANSION ANCHORS AND POWDER-ACTUATEDFASTENERS.
B. DO NOT DAMAGE OR CUT EXISTING REINFORCING STEEL WHILE INSTALLING POST-INSTALLEDANCHORS. NOTIFY SEOR IF EXISTING REINFORCING STEEL INTERFERES WITH INSTALLATION OFPOST-INSTALLED ANCHORS.
C. ALL MIS-DRILLED OR UNACCEPTABLE HOLES SHALL NOT BE USED AND SHALL BE GROUTEDSOLID.
D. ALL POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE ICC-ES REPORT AND MANUFACTURER’S RECOMMENDATIONS.
E. PROVIDE SPECIAL INSPECTION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ALL POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS,UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
F. FIELD TEST POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. FIELD TESTING SHALLBE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1. 50% OF POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS USED FOR NON-STRUCTURAL APPLICATIONS SHALLBE TESTED, INCLUDING ONE HALF OF ALL ANCHORS IN EACH GROUP.
a. IF ANY ANCHOR FAILS TESTING, ALL ANCHORS OF THE SAME TYPE THAT AREUNTESTED SHALL BE TESTED UNTIL 20 CONSECUTIVE ANCHORS PASS.
