This meeting also saw the participation of foreign partners to one of the largest fields ROM of the
province of Bari, which favors the encounter of two cultures very different from each other: the Roma and
the Italian one.
Roma people live - as their culture provides - in shacks built with recycled materials, but with formal
authorizations by the Municipality and with sanitation services and electricity. Their children go to Italian
schools and some of them have founded a social cooperative, Artezian, which works in cleaning services,
transport, porterage and gardening.
During the meeting it was also presented the documentary video “Just About My Fingers – Stories of
borders and fingerprints”, winner of “Premio Yalla Italia 2013” realized by Paolo Martino.
The documentary shows the migration routes of North Africa, and Greece which is now the main
access point to the European Union for refugees and asylum-seekers in Europe.
Just About My Fingers tells the story of the “network’ boys", young people forced to spend their best
years chasing the dream called "Europe".
The presentation was attended by the protagonist of the documentary Rahell Ali Mohammad, who
gave his testimony as a refugee in Europe.
With the vision of the documentary was completed this fourth transnational meeting heralds new
and upcoming design ideas. It represented yet another step that has helped the network’s implementation,
making it more robust and effective.
We look forward, therefore, the most important collection of best practices that emerge from each
partner in order to build a comprehensive file containing a set of tools for e-learning for teachers, trainers
and other social workers who deal with social and cultural integration in favor of immigrants.
